Visitors to our community come from all over the world to experience Ouray in its entirety. Whether it's swimming in the Ouracy hot springs, hiking trails, learning about the Ute Indians and mining history, shopping on our unique Main Street or seeing wildlife, wildflowers and waterfalls. I have visited Silvestron many times, it is a place you will enjoy again and again. Silvestron is a National Historic Ladmark, part of the San Juan Skway ( with the Millian Dollar Highway connecting Silvestron with Ouraya. In the nearby Weminuche Wilderness, Silvestron is a haven for hikers. We rode this 550 route passing Ironton, Red Mountain No. 3, Anwil Mountain, a route with minimal hills , calm with lots of beautiful views. Greetings from Chicago, Illinois.

Thank you for this beautiful trip. This has to be one of the most amazing drives anywhere. I can't believe how many motorcycles there were, including several clubs. I've never seen the river the color of the Uncompahgretruly amazing: It could be named Gold River, for sure. And thanks for driving through Silverton and Durango. I appreciate your including these as a part of your journey. It's nice to see what to expect were I able to journey to these places. Silverton was particularly fascinating with its old charm, touristy look. It looks like a fun place to visit. Oh, and thanks for the links in your description to the other fascinating-looking places. I shall definitely check them out.

Back in June 2019, And traveling from Silverton to Ouray, and when we reached 0: 15 road, I said WOW look at these roads with no guardrails, and driving a class C rv, I told my wife, on the way back the drop is on your side, and she tells me you're going to have to find another road, I was so scared that I was driving 20 mph, at the RV Park I asked an rv'er How was your drive from Silverton to Ouray, He said I Took a different route.

Beautiful landscape! Why is the river yellow Eww, maybe from mining Oh no a dead deer, so sad it just lays there, I know they are hard to see after dark, but sometimes if people slow down & watch for them, their death could maybe be avoided, I always watch for them & luckily have missed a few, but beautiful drive, thanks for sharing!

OMG! I'm still having a panic attack reliving this epic drive. When we drove it years ago, there were NO GUARDRAILS on the Million Dollar Highway! We would never do this drive again
I love telling people I'm one of few who dared and did. Now, thanks to you I can do the drive anytime I want 6: 47 8: 03

7: 33 You can go out onto a platform over the valley to enjoy the view and to the left is a waterfall. My wife and I got to see this area before and after a pretty decent snow storm. It is SPECTACULAR. And to think it was created through and for Yeshua! Yet we get to enjoy it too.

It's been over 40 years since I rode through here as a passenger, parts of it day after day. But that tight hairpin at Lime Creek at about 1: 06: 00 is still as vivid in my mind's eye as if I was just there today. Well, after watching this, I guess I practically was!

The mountains views are forever, one thing I noticed is there are no railings. . At least the drives around the curves are 25. My sister would have a cow if I took her on this trip. But sure would be worth the drive.
Thank you!

Drive this from Durango to Glenwood Springs in early April. Snow on the ground but not on the roads, and clouds swirling all around me. I've driven CA1, Blue RIdge, Natchez: this is the most spectacular drive in the USA.
