CODY, Wyoming: We Explore One Of The USA's Best Towns To Visit!
video description
CASSIES was definitely a brothel back in the day, and the Madame who was in charge was named Cassie. Theres a pretty colorful history, unfortunately Im not real familiar with it.
I grew up in Missouri and lived in Kansas City and moved to Cody Wyoming in 1996. I raised my kids there and they graduated from Cody High school, one of the best schools in the state. I retired 2 years ago, and I live in Tucson for the majority of the year but I go back to Cody for a couple of months every summer because two of my daughters still live there, while one and Cody and one in Powell just up the road. Also the museum there has the largest collection of Winchester firearms in the world, in fact they loan out their stuff to the Smithsonian. And you can spend a full day in that Museum and still not really see everything.

I was there as a 2nd grader in 1968. We stayed in a log cabin at a place called the UXU lodge near Yellowstone. Still there. Rule breakers at Yellowstone don't always live to tell the tail. People have fallen into those blue pools. One guy fell into one of the crevasses near the geyser and they were not able to rescue him. There is at least one geyser that doesn't work any more due to items thrown into it. People would throw trash into it with the hopes of seeing it fly into the air. I don't remember the Restuarant food being all that good.

'So I'm in Cody, it's about 10am, not a cloud in the sky'. .. There are literally four of them right in front of your face! Why are you declining to acknowledge the presence of clouds Do you have a problem with clouds Clouds bring us rain, rain gives life to plants, animals eat plants, and we eat the animals that eat plants. CLOUDS GIVE US LIFE, PLEASE STOP HATING CLOUDS! (If you're going to hate something, hate on rocks, they pretty much don't do anything these days, they're very lazy.

Recently a Michigan man was burned in a thermal pool and faces federal charges for going off the established walkways in Yellowstone Park. When you enter the park, you are given literature that tells you that you are to never venture off the walkways. The temperature varies from warm to scalding. Fragile thermal areas can be damaged by people disobeying clear instructions to stick to established walkways. Check out the history of deaths of pets and people who got into thermal areas.

Still watching, but I have to say that I do prefer your content when your wife is along. When you are shooting content by yourself, I often feel like I am there, but alone since I am seeing it virtually through your eyes, but when watching your videos and she is there, I don't feel like I'm watching alone. That's kind of cool. Not alone is definitely better than alone I hope you include her more in your videos.

These videos do my heart good, to see the natural beauty of our country and reminisce about the road trips from my past. I am absolutely hooked on your series! I think it takes bravery to sell your house and trust in yourselves on this amazing journey. I hope the views help fund your travels. This makes me miss the work I used to do that took me to many small towns with their old main streets and squares.

A beautiful part of the world. I'm a Brit and did a road trip a number of years ago now, around 2014 i think, passing through Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming and Cody was one of the towns we stopped for the night. we had a great time there. We went through Yellowstone too in the early morning which of course was spectacular. Great memories. Loving your videos.

Yellowstone. You were walking around atop one of the biggest most powerful caldaras on the planet. I could have blown at any time! Of course, if it blows, the best place to be will be right on top of it. The end would be immediate. For the rest of us miles away, we'll have to deal with the aftermath. ashes, lava, nuclear winter.

Your videos are so fascinating, I want to binge watch them but am trying to space them out so I always have one to watch! As a Brit I am always so knocked out by the sheer scale of America, it is hard to get my little British head round it! Love the history of the places you visit and the way you tell the story. Just wonderful xx

It's nice that your stay at the Hampton Inn was so nice, you didn't mention the several pretty clouds in the sky though. Why is that Don't worry, I'm just being silly! A couple day drinks will do that to me, I love your videos, including this one, which I'm only 30 percent into so far. Keep it up, I enjoy your content!

Wow, just stunning! I think that of the videos of yours I have watched so far, that Wyoming and South Dakota are the most beautiful. Incredible variety of landscapes and for me, who will never get to travel to these places, I sure appreciate that you are and that you are making these videos for us. Thanks Joe & Nicole!

Very pretty country (I'm commenting while watching, but it is amazingly beautiful! I would love if you traveled to Ireland and do some videos there, I think that would be awesome! Probably some Canada vids too. I'm enjoying traveling with you both, while home alone in my home in Philadelphia!

Okay, still commenting while watching, it is more amazing probably than Ireland, but Ireland is so lush, full of plant life, rivers and streams everywhere, and ancient structures like old castles in the middle of nowhere. But the scale of that landscape in Wyoming is hard to beat!

My Great Grandfather was a good friend of Buffalo Bill Cody. Just around the corner to the right on 12th Street is a shop called CODY DUG UP GUN MUSEUM. Great shop run by a collector of old guns etc who's wife sadly passed away in the Fall of 2022.

Everybody talks about the northeast and northern entrances to Yellowstone as the most scenic, but I think the east entrance from Cody is vastly underrated. Cody is a great stop to camp at especially the one in town, it's close to everything.

The issue was not the chemicals in the water it was the soft soil you commented on. It’s a caldera. It’s shifting all the time and sometimes you can just punch in through the crust. Don’t leave the trips people.

Yellow Stone lake. Fifteen seconds in, yet no mention of the clouds! Are you blind! Look at all the happy clouds! Yet sadly, not a word about them. Again, I'm 'live streaming' my comments while watching and enjoying.

That old trail town looks so cool. You should get a stand alone GPS. I think your phone is relying on cell service while a regular GPS will be using satellites which will give you better coverage in out of the way places.

We have done a lot of traveling. Everywhere we go we get a Christmas tree ornament. Every year we put up a regular Christmas tree and a travel tree. Of course the travel tree only has ornaments from our travels.

You could almost drive by the Yellowstone turnoff. No signs to indicate bears or other wild animals along freeway. Too much commercialization with hotels, boardwalks. All-in-all a nice stop. Enjoyed Wyoming.

That was so much fun! Radiators do look unusual in a hotel but I have them in my house and they are wonderful. What a neat state. Who would have thought I lived in CO briefly but did not go to Wyoming.

The Cody Cattle Company for great cowboy cooking and music before heading over to the rodeo is a must do as well. The CCC is right beside the museum town and the rodeo grounds.
