To celebrate Earth Day, we share our tips on how to travel sustainably - from choosing accommodation and transport to supporting the local economy. Tori Curtis: Great video Definitely a issue more people should be thinking about when they travel. Another issue I've seen is people leaving rubbish in national parks or wildlife reserves. Maybe they expect others to walk through and clean it up after them? My advice is to carry your own bag for rubbish so you can throw the rubbish away when you get to a building or your hotel.

Nice vid but if you really want to have the smallest carbon footprint possible you will give up eating animal products and eat a plant based diet. Animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gases than the entire transportation industry combined. As for finding options while traveling, its all based on location. Europe, the americas and E Asia are very easy. Then again you can always get potatoes, fruit and veg everywhere you go. Happy cow app changed my life too: )

I'm just seeing this video now, and I'm so glad you made this I had no idea that flying was that detrimental to the environment. If I can pay 25 for extra leg room, I can pay the same amount to offset carbon emissions. It also never occurred to me to rent a hybrid car. I'll definitely be keeping some of these things in mind when I plan my next trip.

This is fantastic Thanks so much. As a full time travel family we are really trying to be more eco in our approach and started with plastic free. It was quite amusing but we have managed to be plastic free travelers since January So keep the positive messages coming.

I love your on camera presence, you make your point quickly which I love, as apposed to longer videos that take 15 mins to give you the same information. These are some great tips and I will definitely be applying them to my trip to Australia in a few months

Hitch hiking, camping and buy a filtered water bottle so that you can drink from any water source around the world. Or learn how to sail, buy a boat (or make one) and then set off on an adventure.
