love the sights of Venice it is like visiting other planet an amazing city. the down side the locals can be very rude most hate the tourist (this from a person that we met that lived there) we got our credit card information stolen from a leather shop that sold handbags while there. the hotel tried to scam us on the hotel tax which at the time was 2 each cash but tried to charge us 12. and the water taxi tried to charge us twice even though we had a receipt for the prepaid ride we told him to call the police we were not paying AGAIN. they will yell and yell tell you. you have to pay etc etc. so keep your receipts. check your credit card statements and know how much the cost or tax or charges are.

Some parts of the video got really scenic Like that part (16: 38, that costume in the sunset was great. Good jobI've been to Venice and I think it must be worth to wait and visit during Carnival. I don't think it is the top city to visit in Italy but it's plenty different from all others for the decorative objects, typical foods. Food is expensive but we've found a pizza place called Farini, where you can easily get by with a filling slice of pizza and good coffee for around 5 euros.

mmmm if you want to be a gondola rider, and you don't own a licence, be prepared to spend a milion in cash, only IF you are known in their very very restricted group and someone want to sell you his licence. usually they begin cleaning gondolas, and you go on from there. exams are a formality, only some questions about history of venice, english knowledge, etc. basically it's a mafia, impossible if you come from outside, like most of the professions in venice.

I spent three weeks in Venice, March 2014 (best month to visit. Might I suggest that for the same price you paid for the gondola ride you could take a 90 minute rowing instruction from RowVenice. com. It was the highlight of my visit. Try it the next time, this way you row as the gondolieri while Carrie admires and videos your prowess You did produce a pleasant and informative video. Mille grazie

When I travelled to Italy for the first time, I was on a budget, but designated Venice as my splurge destination. Totally worth it. Even though it is super touristy, you just can't deny how magical it is there. If you have the time, visiting the other islands is worth it. Murano for their world-famous glass blowing and Burano for their handmade lace and delicious cookies

I just went in September, it wasnt as busy. However, I couldnt do the gondola. It was just a little to pricey for me. However, now watching it on your vlog. I wish I could have done it. By the way, can you explain what camera your using for the b footage/close ups in the gondola? Im looking into investing on a new camera. Thank you: )

When is celebrated this Carnival in Italy? you mentioned that started back on 1162. In what month is celebrated? In Yucatan, Mexico we have something similar also called Carnaval in which began. on Thursday, February 28 and ends on Tuesday, March 5. Thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful video.

My best friend is Italian, she lives in Castle Franco Veneto. I have been to Italy - to quite a few places including Venice when I was 17 and just recently went back to visit my friend, I had the proper Italian tour guide and my gondola driver is a pro in gondola racing (yes its a thing.

Gorgeous video capturing what is unique about VeneziaThanks for talking about what I found most fascinating about Venice, how people went about their daily work. I loved getting up early to see how the Venetians started their day. And whos idea was it to put stairs on the bridges anyway?
