Form follows function. Upright A, B, C, D pillars make for better visibility, a level belt line, level roof line, make for natural lleading lines rather than the forced a perspective found on Tesla. Whomever complains the Hummer EV exudes too much testosterone should look at the FUGLY Cyberflop. EV designers have DECIDED to make oval shaped electric vehciles, low to the ground, low ground clearance, receeding roofline, rising belt line, forced perspective windshields, small rear glass, large D pillar, large center runway that crowds leg room. This is not offroad worthy design language indicative of a Sports Utility Vehcile (SUV. A piss poor example is the chevy trax, or nissan kicka. Both call themselves and SUV, but thats the most overused sales moniker in the auto industry that effectively provides less and asks for more. As long as human pilots are at the helm of a vehcile capable of offroading, then, form should follow function. No pronouns where harmed in convenance of this message,

If only instead of a 3, 000lb battery, they put a 1500lb 10/12 module battery and a gas engine under the hood. Still 400v, still 120-150 miles of range, and they use that same 1500lbs to put a gas generator that gives this significantly more range. The blazer SS proves that the dual motor setup would be possible without the extra packs and they could even have done the tri motor and had it run the 2. 7t for max power. With how much torque that engine makes down low, it would make a phenomenal generator, especially if modified to run miller cycle. The ramcharger wouldnt stand a chance

It's the ONLY EV on the market that even comes close to replacing the F350s my tree farm uses. Even if it only gets 1 mile per kWh that's 14 cents a mile or nothing if charged off the solar at my cabin vs 21 cents per mile for diesel. But it's too expensive because the roughly ten grand saved on fuel during our ownership period would be more than offset by the massive depreciation and higher insurance cost vs a traditional HD truck.

. when you start out as a car reviewer saying it's the least efficient ev because of a big battery but is able to achieve its rated range when the efficient ev can't even come close to achieving their rated range that you pay a premium for is the dumbest thing to hear these days but here we are almost like fearmongering because what do you expect from a full-size vehicle with the utility/capability it has

The Hummer brand was sold to Chinese at the time of bankruptcy, but i'm sure they can legally use the word any different way except brand name
edit: yeah this should have been engine range extending EV maybe even small diesel if it would make any sense, sure sacrificing fronk so what, i wonder why they only talking about it and nothing is done, have bad feeling it would price much higher then this

1. 2miles/kW translates to 24mpg (for the price of a gallon of gas in the midwest ($3. 00) you would buy 20kW at. 15c/kW (residential rate) which would last for 24 miles. charging away from home when road tripping’ could slash the efficiency by 2-3X which combined with the need to charge frequently makes this the last thing i would ever consider for a road trip.

I love mine! I have the edition one3x I have had expeditions escalades qx80 and this is by far the best riding vehicle I have had! And to me the millage is good! I get 329 range on full when I need it and 254 at 80%. The ones who hate it just can't afford it. Its not meant to be a daily driver or travel to and from work! Its just jun to drive period!

So for the tri motor, the offroad pack gets you a mode where the rear motors will sync rpms to simulate a locker. The dual motor gets a mechanical locker on the rear axle. Either way you get a rear locker, but honestly the dual motor seems better for off road.

EVs are trash all around I really hope companies start to divest into the EV culture and start working on more effective hybrid vehicles. People are barely buying ice vehicles let alone spending the exorbitant amount of money on EVs

I'll never own one but I love it. Yes, it's an inefficient EV but at least it's not spewing gas fumes which is good. Obviously, the bigger the EV, the more electrons you'll need to move it. I love the features and the crab walk.

About the efficiency. According to the silly epa MPGe rating it is rated at 53MPGe so in the neighborhood of a Prius. I still think it's a ridiculous vehicle, but better than the even more ridiculous ice hummer.

So this beast does nothing well except have a nice ride Short range, inefficient, slow charge time, crap handling, can’t fit down trails, overpriced, and takes a country mile to stop.

I think the mentioned charging speed is not correct. I saw a Silverado EV. with same pack on a EA 350kw station do 0% to 100% in 1 hour. 20 min. So something is not right.

An absolute beast and incredible machine. Yes it's inefficient but we need crazy vehicles like this to show off how awesome EVs can be. Hahaha. It's just a monster.

Man, that undersized suspension air pump sure seems like a design flaw. Overheating and 15 minute mode changes That is just so lame in so many ways.

That kind of stopping distance pretty much requires a locomotive style cowcatcher on the front. I don't think bull bars are at all sufficient.

You didn't mention the price of the rivian with the big battery which is more comparable. Having said that, i got 16k off my Hummer 3x

Honestly Alex, the 2025 Hummer EV SUV is no more irrational than the concept of manufacturing our way to a Green Future.

Hopefully with the EV taxpayer incentives now toast we can get back to what the majority of consumers want, V8 horsepower!

It's amazing how huge, heavy and inefficient and relatively small inside this thing is. What a poor piece of engineering.
