I had an Ariya Evolve eForce AWD. while it was a fun car to drive, the seats become every uncomfortable at the 8 months mark. They seemed to have flattened out and you can feel the metal bars inside them, I'm only 130lbs. But made me decide not to get another Ariya at the end of the lease. The range on the car was never quite accurate it would always start at 265 miles of range. But it would suddenly drop and not stay linear. Kept the drive mode in normal the whole time. I hope the leaf solves some of these issues.

Nissan needs to absolutely go hard on advertising and promote the living heck out of this thing. Leaf was the first mainstream electric car and already has name recognition, unlike all the alphabet soup/fake word names for other electric cars. Now all Nissan has to do is leverage that name recognition and the good will behind it. And because Nissan isn't doing so well, they don't have Toyota's problem of having to hold back for the sake of public relations: they can go all in.

I can’t help being disappointed in the styling. The last model was attractive it just needed updating in terms of battery tech and charging port. Here in Canada the Leaf was popular when rebates were high and it was the only game in town. I’m not sure this will gain popularity again. Pricing is critical here and it doubt they’ll price it low enough to be the budget EV option.

Current leaf drivers are people who generally accept and embrace quirkiness in their cars.
SOURCE: am leaf driver
The most important part of this car will be the price.
I will mourn the simplicity of the physical buttons on the old model leaf. One of the only EVs along with bolt that had old school classic no-look honest to god buttons

3: 10 I was so on board. I was thinking how convenient it would be to have curbside charging with the charger in that location, then they ruined it with two ports What is even the thought process of including the older technology in a secondary port on the other side of the car when they could’ve included the DC/AC on one singular port for simplicity.

Ariya is already not too much bigger than 2nd gen Leaf so I'm interested in how the 3rd gen Leaf stacks up. They look to be quite similar so I'm a bit surprised at the overwhelmingly positive reception this is getting. Infotainment in Ariya is rather poor but otherwise I think it's got it beat in features and is available at steep discount.

I really hope this does well for Nissan. I hate to see that brand disappear in my lifetime.
Unfortunately is fighting a political and cultural climate against EVS that's ridiculous here in the United States
But maybe a few months of height gas prices because of our upcoming Iranian war will snap a few people out of it in time

Wow it's a 2 seater. Front end doesn't match the back end. The back end looks better (80's vibe. Cargo area is a meh. No frunk, don't care. Get rid of those touch buttons. That gear selector sucks. The Platinum should have a powered passenger seat. No rear wiper. Those charging ports, W. T. F.

The size specs they released shows that it’s shorter, narrower and lower to the ground than the current model of Leaf. Apparently the hood is a fair bit shorter too. It has more cargo room and rear legroom than the outgoing model too.

I'm glad to see the Leaf back. I'm glad to see that they made a bunch of updates, including charge ports and speed. I just wish they left the hatchback, they're so useful! If Nissan keeps the price down, looks like it could be a real winner

I'd describe it as a mini Model Y with Nissan styling cues. I think it's super cute, especially in the blue. It reminds me of Stitch. Are they going to build it in the US How did Michael Jordan not ever become the Nissan spokesman

EDIT: ignore this because I’m wrong
They add the NACS connector but put it on the wrong side of the front, so it'll have to pull into the spot next to the Supercharger instead of the one in front of it that Teslas use.

74 kWhr x 90% x 3. 2 mi/kWhr = 210 mi max. Likely 20% less in very hot or very cold or climbing a mountain pass.
Over 300 mi is probably so far off it is calculated misleading.

Me here still trying to figure out how pointing to the left and saying AC and then pointing to the right and saying DC is an easy way to remember which side to pull up to your charger.

I happened to be in Yokohama when the 1st gen Leaf launched. We had to walk througn Nissan headquarters to get to our building. Leaf was the first EV I really liked.

It's not the first vehicle with NACS. The Ionic 5 already switched. Toyota already announced the Bz with it too, even though thst's not out yet so I don't think it counts.

At first go-around, instead of tailor fit design, my ears played a trick on me and seemed to say taylor swift design. hmmm, I wonder what royalties were paid there; )

The front looks like a mini Ariya, which we own and love. We had one of the first LEAFs that was ever built back in 2011. They sure have come a long way.

Those charge doors should open in the opposite direction. Yeah, not good if you leave the door open accidentally, but SCs have short cables.
