2018 / 2019 BMW M5 - The Most Insane Luxury Sedan Ever

The M5 is one of the most insane cars sold in America and yet at the same time eminently practical. With launch control you can run 0-60 times that would make Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens jealous, but it seats people in comfort and has enough room in the back for rear facing child seats and two sets of golf clubs. The lateral grip isn quite in the super-car category but its shockingly close while delivering a ride that won bruise your kidneys. BMWs latest AWD system improves traction in adverse weather yet is fully-defeatable when you want to do doughnuts and burnouts. The M5 is quite simply one of the most impressive engineering accomplishments from Germany, yet at the same time its upsetting all manner of BMW M-faithful. But they couldn be more wrong. This is the best M ever

M5 definitely no doubt. It is more advance than the two, etc you can actually use gesture control for commands and gesture control to drag and move the cameras around the car and also I love the upgraded touch screen key fob that you can achieve data and have control of the vehicle. BMW is the first to innovate the I DRIVE control which is the best in the market today. And there is a lot more technology that I cant go into right now. The M5 is more of a driver car its more controllable and compare to the amg (where the gear lever is on the steering wheel) the M5 is right were you need it to be. Overall the M5 is the fastest (not to mention the competition package, it is more comfortable and have more styling and also you have more options to choose from. M5 is like having 2 cars in 1 you can take it on the track or you can drive normally with your family inside very comfortable, this is why the BMW M5 IS TRULY THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE.

AN excellent and comprehensive analysis and narrative. However, I would have liked to have seen how the trunk was finished under the center mat. I think you should have mentioned that instead of 8 user programmable short cut buttons like on immediately previous generations, there are now only 7. Did this not have the heads up display? Also, is this the iDrive7 or still the iDrive6? Keep going as the graphics, if not the video jump cuts, are first rate and informative. I cannot find your review on the E63S through YouTube search. I was interested because most reviewers have noted the ride in that car is rougher and not as serene as the M5 in comfort mode. Also, the tank capacity of each would be helpful as multiplied by MPG yields a refueling frequency datum.

Great review IEven though my white 18 AMG E63 S wagon was wonderful in many aspects. The roughness in low speed and too firm air suspension in daily drive made me committed to exchange for my new ride. fully loaded M5 a week ago. Even it is just a regular m5, I indeed do feel the she is hair faster in acceleration (3. 12 for 0-60 with the wagon. That was my 3rd E63 over almost a decade. This m5 provides impressive speed in a more gentle way. She can be very wild if choose so. I guess I am getting a bit older. Even I still like to drive very fast but now I choose to be in more smooth way of fast. :)

Id like to see proof of this 2. 8s 0-60 (and I mean standstill to 60, not using rollout. Ive seen Vbox verified 3. 1s 0-60 times but never under 3. For the record the 720S is capable of a 2. 5s 0-60 on the right surface and using its OEM tyres (Pirelli P Zero Corsa. The CC brakes are not designed to reduce braking distances, they are designed to be used for repeated high speed braking in order to reduce fade. In a one off test youd be hard pressed to tell the difference between standard steel brakes and the CC brakes.

The ride on the E63S is harsh, even in Comfort mode. It is not supple like you mentioned. It sounds like youre making an assumption based on the fact that it has air suspension. The ride is actually much more supple and comfortable on the M5. Between the M5 and the E63S, I would pick the M5. The CTS-V is an older model. It will be interesting to see what the CT5-V (CTS-V replacement) is like when it comes out.

Per your request, since there is no outstanding difference among the three, I would opt for the CTS-V. Caddy has come a long way. It is engaging, handles superbly and it is lower cost. The acceleration negative isnt a major negative. And, in base trim, it is superior and substantially lower cost. Caddy is flying under the radar for too long. I would go with the CTS-V.

Doesnt the Charger Hellcat compete with the M5, even though its not a luxury sedan and the interior isnt as refined as the Germans? The hellcat is insanely powerful w 700hp, and the same ZF 8 speed as the m5. Yes it lacks AWD, but for a RWD only sedan, 0-60 times are very close to the m5, and the biggest ace for the dodge: its half the price.

I guarantee you will have more fun more of the time in a 5000 first generation Miata. You dont need 600+ HP, AWD, or a 6-figure MSRP to have fun. This is not an M car. This is a luxury barge with more power than makes sense. BMW V8s are not their most reliable engines already, and you want to pile on the turbo boost? Have fun with that

Great Review and could not agree with you more about all the purist attitudes. Of course this is personal to each individual. Why would I want 2 wheel drive if it gives me slower 0 to 60 times again personal. But purists dont knock those who like it this way.

V8s sound amazing, crap with torque. Dual clutch, lighting fast shifts, sounds like its going to explode at low speeds. Rear wheel drive, fun/drifts, will eventually kill you with something with much power. All the M fanboys need to calm down.
