2018 Honda Accord 2. 0T Review - Americas best sedan?

In the epic battle between Toyota and Honda the stakes couldn be higher (and the final score couldn be closer) than in the Camry vs Accord fight. For 2018 both companies completely redesigned their mid-sized sedans with a keen eye on the shifting realities of the modern sedan shopper. With this generation of Accord, Honda decided to sharpen their claws with a 2. 0L turbo borrowed from their hot-hatch Civic Type R, an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission, more LEDs than Times Square and some adaptive suspension technology borrowed from luxury brands. The result is quite simply the best Accord ever produced. Period. But does that mean it beats the all-new Camry? Yes and no

Fair Review. My thoughts on the Accord: + Design/Looks: the Accord front-end looks much nicer than the Camry and has an overall muscular look, crisp lines and not too busy looking. + Handling: Flatter cornering, more punch in low-speed acceleration+ Ergonomic/Intuitive Infotainment (Carplay, AAuto for some)- Rear Seat headroom- Highway Road Noise and Ride quality esp with nice wheels- Seats not as nice as XLE/SE/XSE seats in CamryReasons why the Camry keeps me from pulling the plug on getting a new Accord-- In my tests, the Camry has: Better seat comfort, more rear headroom (not as big of a deal, Cushier ride quality, less road noise, proven drivetrain durability (relatively, Better sound system (both standard and upgraded, CD player and Aux jack still available. The #1 reason I dont get a new Camry is because of that silly nose design. busy looking with too many lines, contours, angles and large front and rear overhangs. Thoughts?

I used to travel frequently and rent a lot of cars. Rarely I would see a Honda Accord as a rental car but see a lot of Chevrolet Malibus. Both cars were boring to drive but the Chevrolet was the only one that had had a engine problem; however, that was only a minor issue nothing that stop me from driving. People who like Chevrolets like I used to find that GM cars are much better than the old one so they are very happy with them. I used to own a Pontiac but it broke down so much I bought a Honda which I still drive today with over 450, 000 miles. It too is it boring car so I bought an 2005 Acura TL which is my favorite car of all time. It is good looking reliable and fun to drive. I still have to give some credit to the GM cars that Ive driven. They are a lot better me than previously and I especially like how they start in the cold.

I really enjoy your reviews, and Im currently looking for a new car. Your Honda Accord review is excellent. I have been researching, and noticed that many people dont like the Accord front end - especially the chrome una-brow. If you want to change it, the dealer will replace the unibrow with either a black chrome or regular chrome sport grill which does a really good job of taming the look of the front end. On the Honda. com page you can add it and see the difference. I like the Accord Touring better than the Camry XSE, but would miss some features that the Honda includes. For me, the Toyota Camry XLE front end looks like a basking shark, and the XSE looks like an anteater. Different strokes for different folks.

I made the same decision when I was shopping for cars this past fall. It came down to the Camry vs the Accord, although I was looking at the hybrid models. At the end of the day, I felt the Accord had better styling, offered more features for a better price, and the big sell for me was that the battery was the same in all the trims. If they had used the same battery throughout all the models on the Camry, I might have gone that route, but I was mad that Id have to give up almost 10 mpg if I wanted leather seats and alloy wheels. I ended up with a 2017 Accord hybrid, and I actually prefer that styling over the new 2018 style. Im not sure Ill go back to Honda at the end of my lease.

Your reviews are amazing. You approach every car in a level headed and realistic manner. I watched this one because I want an accord and I have been tempted by the Camry. My wife wants a crv or Subaru, I think awd is overrated. I owned a pilot and a 4Runner with it and think its not as good as safe driving. I think your comments on cars are accurate. I am a little surprised at everyone (not just you) complaining about accord seat comfort. I really like that I can push the seat down and back and almost be semi reclined. Seriously great work. Ive prolly watched 50 videos youve done. Now get back in the trunk

The new Accord and the Camry are both equally disappointing to me. This is the first time i have preferred the looks of the civic over the accord. I am Not a fan of small Turbo charged 4 cylinder engines. The interior of the accord is the best part of this car. Yeah The Camry is still available in a V6 but i dont think the designers were listening when the CEO said stop making boring cars There is nothing exciting about the new camry Plus they manage to make it even more unattractive than the last model which looked like a cheap version of an Avalon. The dash of the camry reminds me of a Prius. which is sad.

Alex. Ive been following you for a long time, and I am surprised by how little excitement you have for this new Accord. Its a tick faster than the Camry but the adaptive suspension in the Touring model really takes it up a whole level, in my opinion. The infotainment in the Camry was downright awful, the interior was busy and while the V6 was excellent, it was (in Canada) almsot 1500 more than the better-equipped Accord. The only feature the Camry had that I would have really wanted was the around-view camera, but Ill take the adaptive dampers (and parking sensors) in the Accord any day

As a Toyota Technician I can say that Im not a large fan of the Camry (Dont get me wrong it is a fantastic car its just not my favorite. the 4 cylinder model doesnt have a cam shaft and instead uses electronic valves (pretty fancy but also expensive to replace. it also uses super thin 0w-16 oil which feels like watered down baby oil. all these things make me question the reliability of the 4 cylinder. we dont see many V6 models (maybe 1 in 50 at my particular dealership. Id still go with the Accord but I think the Camry is a viable option. especially compared to the past models

I used to like mine. But after 3 months, 5000 miles, the diver seat is killing me. I am 59 165 Ibs, very average body habitus. The bottom portion of the leather seat (Touring Trim) is firm (which is not the main issue, I had 17 Civic Hatchback is firm, too, THE SHAPE / DESIGN is narrow feels it is for 52 100 Ibs to fit in. The side support is way bulky and hard, feels like two giant rocks are squeezing my hips and my thighs all the time. The result is, I am having deep bruises on my hips and pain on the back side of my thighs. Cant stand this seat anymore.

Theres a couple things I wouldnt mind seeing in future videos. 1. Where are the windshield washer sprayers located? Are they easy to keep free of snow/ice? The reason I mention this, is because I live in Canada and some cars actually have sprayers located in hard to reach locations that can often be covered in snow. 2. How do the images from the reverse camera come across? Are they augmented? How badly are they fish-eyed? How clear is the picture? Keep up the great work: )
