The EQE Is The E-Class Re-Imagined For The 21st Century Mercedes AMG EQE Sedan Review

Mercedes is going about electrification a little differently than some companies. Instead of developing common ICE/BEV/PHEV platforms like we see at BMW and to some extent Volvo and Audi, Mercedes is betting big on their large car dedicated EV platform that has spawned mid-sized and full-sized sedans and crossovers from the EQS and EQS SUV to the EQE and SQE SUV. Today we look at the spiritual successor (some day) to the Mercedes E-Class, specifically an E-Class AMG.

The electric car fad is going to create cars for the wealthy few while the majority starve. Many politicians want a war on natural gas as well as diesel and gasoline. Skyrocketing energy costs combined with skyrocketing demands for recharging grossly expensive toxic batteries will not fly. Bad energy policy equals bad agricultural policy because we make food with energy. Expect even worse food and housing cost inflation The herd is stampeding off a cliff. I suggest people stop and reevaluate their belief system which has been created by psycho-science, not real science. Carbon creatures fighting carbon is a suicide, not science.

I don't know about getting this over a Model S
Keep in mind, the Model S starts under 90k, about 20k less than this AMG, which starts at 108k
The Tesla would be about as quick, in base form, and it has the Supercharger Network, and may have Tesla incentives on charging. And it looks better, IMO, and the Tesla has much more cargo room, and more driving range

Based on viewer feedback we're merging EV Buyers Guide and Alex On Autos back together under the new name Auto Buyers Guide. (Full transition soon) so we may re-post a few videos that didn't hit or we think might have broader appeal here. If you've already seen this one, sorry about the re-post.

This car's efficiency and range simply doesn't warrant its horrible bar-of-soap blob face. Why can't Mercedes at least make it look like an CLS or AMG GT with grills blocked off? Can't imagine how bulbous these EQ Mercedes look in lighter body colors.

Wow how hard the German Auto Industry has fallen in just thirty years!
Woke, Pussified, Electrified, Planned Obsolescent, Disposable, Overly Complex, Outrageously Priced,
Poor Reliability, JUNK!

I was a big fan the original AMG identity. Sadly it has not been the same since being acquired by overlord Mercedes
Alfred & Melcher. AMG really need you guys.

225 miles is likely to equate to under 200 miles of straight highway driving. EV s in this price range should be providing at least 300 miles of range.

The cab-forward shape is hideous.
I prefer what BMW is doing in terms of offering their mainline models with either ICE or EV power trains.

Sorry mercedes, i know this isn't targetted at people like me but none of these EV mercs have grown on me. seeing in person made it worse
