Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T review - Living with 602bhp V8 everyday supercar - Autocar

Can you really call a -200, 000 V8 like the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T an everyday, entry-level car? Whatever, we're going to do it anyway: the GTC4 Lusso is Ferrari's most usable car, after all. It has four-seats, breadvan-style bodywork with a reasonable boot beneath it - it even has split-fold rear seats. The original variant had four-wheel drive and a V12 engine, but Ferrari has since introduced this turbocharged 3. 9-litre V8 model at the 'bottom' of the range. It's rear-drive only, but still has in excess of 600bhp and a price you can take to well in excess of a quarter of a million pounds with some deftly judged options. Just how usable is this car, then? Sure, it'll look dramatic and go very fast (0-62mph in 3. 5sec) in the right conditions, but what if you choose crummy roads in crummy conditions in the middle of a crummy English winter? It says GT in the name: can it GT in real life?

Great review but some of his comments are actually a bit understated. I'm prob not the only person in the comment section to daily drive a lusso but the rear seats actually have a lot of space and head room, by most cars' standards, not just supercar. The suspension is magic, I drive a mercedes s class for work and I'm telling you, the lusso handles bumpy roads almost as well as that

If you actually want this to drive everyday, then I see absolutely no reason why you'd buy the V12 over this. And I love that it's completely indistinguishable from the V12, which is a really nice touch as most car makers would've fitted some eye popping detail to the exterior which would never let you, and those around you, forget that you're in the cheaper car.

Hmm, I-m just not feeling the love on how this engine looks let alone sounds. Ferrari engines and engine bays are supported to be things of stunning beauty. The V12s are. But this V8 found here and the Portofino? It looks too generic and too plasticky. It-s not supposed to be this way. Not on Ferraris.

So I had no idea the GTC4 Lusso T was rear drive only. I thought that the -4- in GTC4 indicated the number of drive wheels, as I believe it does in the V12 model. Now I know, but now part of me wishes Ferrari would build a RWD V12 GTC4!

Come on Autocar! This test was soooo boooring. Two of the best cars in the world and you are trying to be sensible. leave that to the owners driving them, take them fgsakes! to the limit instead! No more to say.

Just one silly question from someone who's never even sat in a Ferrari.
For the gears, you have buttons to push. Reverse, Auto and Launch.
So how does one get the car back into neutral?

If I had the money, and I haven't, I'd plump for the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo thingy. The FF, or whatever it's now called, is interesting but still a little odd for my tastes.

These cars really are for the super rich, if I had 200k to drop on a single car it certainly would not be one of these. Fortunately I do not have this dilemma

This engine is just pathetic. Who would buy a latest but detuned V8 for that price? An M5 or E63s is more practical and will out sprint it for half the price
