That's exactly why I've bought an A1, superior build quality over the Mini, and far more exclusive.
There are far too many Minis on the road, that's not a bad thing, but when everyone seems to be driving one, it takes the magic of owning a new car if there are loads of similar ones on the road.
The Audi is still quite a rare sight, and in my opinion is the better car, especially on the inside, the quality of materials used in all the switches and upholstery is light years ahead of any other Supermini, you feel the car will outlast you.
When you are buying an expensive Supermini, you want something that makes you feel like you've got value for money in its beautiful build quality.
That's what made me buy an Audi, it's like a small limo on wheels.

I'd rather have the Mini, it's got more character than the A1 and it just got that unique factor, weather you're looking from inside or outside you'll know that's a Mini and not other type of car.
My reasoning is: If you want to buy an expensive small car you probably want it to be special and fun, otherwise there are plenty cheaper options or options from higher class for the same price. While the A1 has some nice quality interior it just doesn't feel or look special.

-blackseries99 I'm sorry but you miss the point of the regional show; if they wanted British presenters then they could simply license the rights to US networks and as it is, there wouldn't be a need for another Top Gear. Personally the UK Top Gear crew is wearing thin. Tiff Needell is so much better than Jeremy Clarkson or James May Day or Hamster which explains why I prefer Fifth Gear.

so, Audi for same money offers more comfort and quality is much better and also looks more stuning, and what he said about handling: ) i guess it's all about driver, some might think Minis better some A1.

And TGUK is good in which they are. no need to replace them.

Love how all of the modern Audi rear cluster lights rise with the back gate. I wonder what was the logic or idea behind that feature, maybe to save costs in metal stamping of the side panels, who knows.

Nice review. I like the look of the mini, and being able to customise it, however the audi just looks very classy too and has more boot space. Now. if only I had $40, 000 lol

Audi is more practical and more refined.
but there is no way any MINI driver would want to replace their cars with the A1.
