BMW M3 Competition vs Mercedes-AMG A45 vs Honda Civic Type R GT: Steve Sutcliffe Track Battle Ricky: The bmw is just incredible, strong, powerful, responsive, the Mercedes sounds incredible and is shaped perfectly, just as a -hot hatch- should be. The civic highlights everything that Honda do with their hatches, they-re incredibly underrated vs the rest of the worlds. However they-re just too long to call a hot hatch for me, the civic name is has a heavy weight and this car does live up to it. But I can-t stand the site of it compared to the other two, for me they just look too -out there-, this is coming from a Honda fan - I love the previous ep3 and fn2-s.
However in actual reality I-ll never be able to afford any of theses until probably 30 years time when the rest of the world is driving electric cars ahaha, by that point I can probably be safe in saying the bmw and Mercedes will be riddled with expensive costs to fix. The Honda on the other hand, whilst I-ll have to take a long time to love it-s looks, will probably be as good as it is today. Just look at the many ep3-s and fn-s on the roads, some are still being used as daily-s AND track day cars! Honda-s although many of their owners give Honda a bad name, are made by a completely different company, designing cars that last for a completely different market.

Interesting comparison and well presented by this guy! Personally I don't think this track suits the Type R at all as even though there's not much understeer it is still there and it's evident on slow corners. Think this would be closer on a faster track. Of course the M3 would still win fairly comfortably as it's a beast, but I think the Type R would take the 2nd spot.

Good video! but. how is comparing a 40k vehicle to a 70k vehicle fair? I mean i love the video, but i sure hope 30k difference would get you better performance! I think the fact that we are comparing the type r to a vehicle totally out of its league (in price) just shows how much of a great car for the price the Type R is.

So in conclusion, a45 is pointless and bonkers at that price, m3 is brutal but that front end is too much to get over at 90k. Also sounds like you need to be Steve Sutcliffe to get that performance out of it. My pick of the three would be the type R but I couldn't drive around in that thing knowing a golf R exists

I just wish the bmw drivers could actually push it fast or have the confidence to do so. I also wonder if you accidentally put it in drift mode since the new cars drift mode works same as the old launch mode but for me it-s all about how I come into and out of a turn that determines how tail happy it gets

Steve tested a Porsche Cayman GT4 around the same track and guess what? He lapped the Porsche in 43. 9 seconds, exactly the same time of the new BMW M3 Competition. That puts in perspective of just how fast the new M3 really is.

Dang Steve has been on a race diet too he-s lost a lot of weight! Good video. I wonder how the Megane trophy r would compare against the M3 on this track. Can-t recall if it-s been tested or confirmed if quicker than the type R? -

Yea and just remember when ur car breaks and leaves you on the side of the road before it has 100k klms
And then u realised you should have brought japanese - 300k klms and still able to beat on it

Give it 10 more years and the type r-s will still be on the road. Other than garaged cars, People don-t want to deal with the maintenance and fixes on those expensive cars. It may not be worth it

I love Steve Sutcliffe he-s excellent at reviewing cars. Didn-t see him for a while and in the few vids he did he didn-t seem well. Glad to see him back to his old self and great videos.
