Great Video! I guess I'm overly anal about taking care of the vehicles. Really am petty picky on that stuff. I figure 40 for oil or 10000 for a motor or trans. Kinda a no-brainer to me. I use only Mobil 1 or Royal Purple full synthetic oils with a WIX, Mobil 1 or K&N synthetic media type filters. Just never did understood why using a paper media based oil filter like Fram or Pennzoil was a good idea. Not counting how poorly Fram paper type filters are made and how bad the anti-syphon valves leak by. Plus I envision media paper floating around in the oil ports and passages to the bearings and it makes me shudder a little bit. I think the FOMOCO Full Synthetic oil is probably good enough. I do use the ford oil, prolly about 1/2 Qt, to help flush out any old oil.

Do you know if there is a difference between the 2011 vs 2012 vs 2013 Dodge Caravan engines? Or are they all identical? The reason I am asking is that the manual on 2011 and 2012 uses 5W-30 oil and the 2013 manuals says it uses the 5W-20 oil. I have cross reference the block, heads, and cranks, crank bearings between the years. All uses the same part numbers. Is there any reason why they recommend 5W20 on the 2013 and onward? Would 2011 and 2012 accept 5W20 and run just as well or better go with 5W30? Or will there be issues if a 2013 on 5W30 vs 5W20?

Very nice and thorough video. Thanks. On my van, every morning, or even later in the day, when I start it up, it sputters and sometimes dies on me. After restarting, it's fine. If it manages to keep running (doesn't die) for a few more seconds, again it is fine. It will be fine for the rest of the day, unless it sits idle for maybe 12 hours or more. Any ideas on that problem?

Informative video, thanks. I had a question: I noticed that the air filter had oil on it from the fresh air hose above it for the engine. Is that normal to have oil coming out of that hose, or would you say that's an indicator of a PCV issue?

Excellent video! Thank you very much for sharing. First time I have seen an oil filter that went into a housing like that since the days of my '65 MG Midget! The location of this one is much easier to deal with.

I've noticed on a lot of your videos, you use a tripod that you move between cuts. But on others like this one, you have a camera person. Did you recruit Vanessa do be the camera woman?
