Test And Replace Blower Motor Resistor - Chrysler Town & Country / Caravan
video description
And after my mechanic finishes the job he tells me oh well maybe it's your blower motor or the blower resistor LOL SMH and I talk to him because I have enough knowledge about cars at working on my own cars that I said don't you think you should check the compressor the condenser and the blower resistor before we do that repair
And he said to me because the front and back we're not blowing at times and because they were blowing hot or cold or on and off switching ERC.
&he said
that either way it was the expansion valves that needed to be Replaced
and now I'm doubting if that even needed to be done SMH this is the reason why it's so difficult to trust a f mechanic this is why I have a hard time trusting anyone
because of the simple fact that I said look don't you think we should test the more simple things first. so we know as a process of elimination. where to start the repair?
And I took the mechanics advice and now I'm wondering if I made the right decision or if I just wasted money

Yet another one of your videos that helped me quickly diagnose a problem with my 2007 Town and Country minivan. This time the front fan blower stopped working, so based on watching your tutorial, I was able to prove the front fan blower relay and fuse were good. Plus the fan motor worked fine, and the fan speed switch worked fine. Replacing the fan speed resistor cured the problem. Thank you for posting these great videos!

How can I be sure it's not the blower motor. Cause it doesn't blow air at all no matter what speed I'm not sure can it still be the resistor. I'm not sure if you have a town and country they're so similar. But my resistor looks a bit different. The original one doesn't have a cage like yours. It looks like some heatsinks. Also to the resistor the 12v cable has a red tip not like yours

Therefore you are my rockstar. Thank you very much

Great Video, I had a newer style resistor that burnt up with corroded wires. I found a wire harness and an older style resistor at Pull-A-Part In Lafayette LA. Your video helped me with determining if i could replace with the old one. Thanks a bunch; )

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee, I'm suspecting the resistor is bad. My question is, with vehicle off, key out, is there constant power going to the resistor? I put my volt meter leads in the positive and negative slots and got 12. 4v.
