I'm actually doing a IAC valve on a 99 honda civic tomorrow. I've done this job before on a honda civic and those 2 MoFo coolant hoses are a MoFo to get off and back on. AHH but this time I have prepared. Got my new valve, and throttle body gasket. I bought some hose clamps and a angled pair of pliers to move the clips. I'm hoping this time around isn't as bad as the last one I did.

thanks for the great Throttle Body cleaning vid - I took the part out last night and cleaned this am. And the car was transformed. I didn't think it would change that much since the carbon was dark but not that thick. So I guess these TB engines are very sensitive - it was cleaned last 100K ago but I'm not sure the mechanic took the part out.

Had a similar problem on a 2001 Sport trac, but it stalled at every stop. It was an idle solenoid at rear of engine. Cleaned it with good old carb cleaner and put silicone on the gasket. Has been working fine for 6 years now. I am going to clean my throttle body because I do have a little rough idle from time to time. Great videos, thanks.

So you dont need to worry about getting liquid inside the parts of the throttle body? Also, I have heard that you need to have a computer reset after cleaning the throttle body. Is that true? Thanks for the helpful videos Eric! I enjoy watching and learning.

I had similar problems, it was my throttle control model, we watched the draw on the position and that fixed mine, nothing else made a difference and no signs of problems, took the part cracked it open sure enough 3 of the prong almost welded together.

My Ford F-150 98 model with 4. 6 idles great but when you step on throttle truck seems to miss when you're going down the road you can ease up on throttle and it will smooth out do you think I have throttle body problems

Throttle plate coking? What do you do read trade journals and service manuals at night to your kids rather than bedtime stories? You have have a good understanding of your craft.

Do you ever put SeaFoam in a spray bottle to spray as you clean these down? I want to do an occasional cleaning and wanted to do this on a 2014 Camery 4 cylinder.
