I have the same truck. How dangerous is it to drive when there's small air leak in the vacuum line at the power steering pump or leak in the pump itself somewhere. Brakes still feel pretty good. No brake fluid leaking, and the power steering doesn't really leak fluid, if it does it's very very slow, because you can't spot it anywhere. You can hear the leak at the power steering pump when you press the break pedal, and you can see the line jump when you take your foot off the break.

Hey Guy, You did not notice that the Nut on the top right stud did not get installed. It fell out while you were trying to stab at it with your extension and socket. It bailed out, the camera saw it but you were not in the right position to see it. This was on the Chevy you put a Hydro Boost on. Enjoy your videos and your family is great. the two of you are wonderful parents.

Hi my name is Douglas I love your videos I have a quick question don't know if you can answer it or not but I have the same hydroboost system in my 1992 GMC 3500 and sometimes my brake light pops on and stays on I checked the fluids turn truck off brake fluid Blake brake light goes out any ideas as to what causes this thank you very much

Well im almost done with listening to my father and his stop-leak solutions. Stop-leak and duct tape rule his world. I leaked on a car builders driveway and he is ready to excommunicate me.
Im ready to tackle it now, thanks for making it look easy and I'll add all the good knuckle busting words you missed when I do it.

Watched this video to prep for replacing on my 96 6. 5L 2500. Glad I looked under the dash before starting. Big brace on steering column and some sort of big box to left of column. You can't hardly see the 4 bolts and no way to get to them without pulling brace and box off. Guess I'm headed back to the shop.

Gotta ask,
Have a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 that have the 6. 0 gasser. Its been humming a while from what sounds like the power steering pump or the hydro-booster.
What are your thoughts as to which to change out?

Just wanted to thank you for making this video! I changed out my old hydro boost last night and your video made it easy for me to do so thank you for that! It was a success and my truck sounds and drives so much better!

So what's the logic behind Hydroboost?
Is it using ATF pressure to run power brakes instead of engine vacuum to get 'improved' emissions by not fluctuating manifold vacuum as brakes are pumped or something?

So my brakes burn and smoke my yukon after I drive for a while. All new brakes rotors and calipers and bled the brakes. Not sure what's going on now. Brake pads won't release after driving for a while.

So does it mean that it is possible to do a brake job in that area of a vehicle and not do the bleeding because I did not notice you carrying out a bleeding on the van.
