I remember the first time I saw this, it was lucky when you moved the wiper arm.
This video reminds me of a 2004 F250 automatic with the column shifter and finding the the three wires going up the hollow tube of the shifter arm to the O/D switch and having the wires bare at the base of the tube because of the shifter handle natural movement.
The new Ford part is the same, so a small piece of split loom wedged up into the hole, over 3 wires and repositioning the small 3 wire harness eliminated the Planned Obsolescence to that wire harness and shifter assembly. The repositioning was because the small 3 wire harness also rubbed over the movable shifter tube that was connected to the transmission shifter cable. WHEW! WHAT A CLUSTER for such a small harness that was blowing fuses!

Thanks again, gives me some direction on my 2006 Malibu LT, I am pretty sure it's a short. Had a fellow (at a place where cars come to die, check the wiring harness, and the no start problem disappeared, but the car needed replacement shocks and struts, and the vibration, may have exacerbated a wiring harness-short, previous owner kept the car outside in the elementos of New Mexico. you are the best.

Had a fuse blowing on my 66 GMC, brake lights and other misc stuff. Factory harness was routed between bed and frame, in the back, and had worn through the brake light wire. Didn't short all the time, just when you hit hard enough bumps. You had to be applying brakes and hitting a bump to cause fuse to blow. Really interesting intermittent short case. I thought so anyway. ;)

Eric i have a 2014 it come up with two codes p00010 and a p00011 camshaft sensor bank 1 and the other is camshaft sensor bank 2 i got the code to reset and now it not thoughting the code and i drove it and put the beads to with no code can this be a intermittent problem and do you think i just need to test both sensor and be done with it

Dude you are good good good. Excellent trouble shooting for a short. Using a light. Basic logic and following the current flow and not getting side tracked. I was excited when you found the skinned wires. Nothing worst then when the problem disappears and you cant confirm or have evidence.

Nice investigating job, trouble is customers do not realize it takes time to find and time is money, they think just a broken wire why are you charging me 150, oh and it's definitely a jacket because she is way cuter than you: )

And It saved the customer tons of money on unnecessary parts. WELL DONE!
You should put up a sign in your shop that says.

Thanks for razing the bar, good fix, here is Australia its dam hard to get wiring diagrams on manny models, a smell test when live and cooking might have helped, but it was well hidden so my be not.
