I help Miss Marie fix up her Civic. She smacked a raccoon on her way to work in the early hours of the morning. She didn't think it did much damage but a few miles down the road the car started to overheat and she knows enough from being in the shop to pull over and shut it off! Let's see if we can get her car back on the road. (F. Y. I. body work is way out of my wheel house so go easy on me in the comments)

If you can use silicone grease on Hospital air and oxygen systems, and you can, I'm pretty sure it will be okay on your cars air conditioning system. I use it all the time on those little rubber grommets that hold the side covers on many motorcycles and car dash dash parts that are held in with grommets with no problems. Silicone grease is used to lube any rubber O rings or grommets that you may have except for, you guessed it, silicone rubber. Why not silicone rubber? Because silicone grease will dissolve silicone rubber that's why. That's why certain adult toys have a warning label on them in those stores you say you never go to. LOL.

I had a civic and hit a dear and I did about the same thing but I replaced the complete core support. I drilled all the spot welds and the drilled the new support and used Grade8 bolts and bolted it in. Once it was in and straight I then welded each bolt head and nut. Then I did some stitch welding where everything met up on the Core Support. With the front tightened up the car handled better then ever and I never had any issues. Even ordered a replacement bumper already color matched to the car. Total Cost with bumper, Core and parts was about 575 and a Saturday of my time.

My dad was a lifelong mechanic. So I grew up in a shop, cleaning parts, sweeping flours and anything else dad had for me to do. That was a good time in my life and I learned a lot from a very good mechanic. I'm now 81 and must say that I've used many principals learned at my dad's elbo. The principals of observing, analyzing, solving, and making the customer happy. you are doing a good job raising your family in a good environment and doing a very good mechanical job meeting your communities repair needs. I enjoy watching your videos very much. Keep up the good work.

Your an amazing mechanic and an amazing guy. Great work from start to finish. It is fun to see a girl learning about the car they drive. Good on you both for teaching and learning. Much respect here in Michigan for you all. Cheers and stay safe and Wash your hands. Covid is always near.

I don't know any mechanic that would take the time to go to a junkyard to help out his customer. I'd have to wait forever for new Parts! A mechanic with a soul! Very Good news these days. Stay safe.

Great Job! If I can do it, you can do it agree, if I were you and had your knowledge! But this is extremely helpful, you used a lot of your skill sets on this one! Truly satisfying Im sure.

wouldn't it have been easier and faster to just take an angle grinder with a cut off and just cut the radiator support back a little farther so you can cut it down and weld it at the shop?

Spent most of my teen years in scrap yards keeping my cars on the road, such fond memories climbing around all the old the cars looking for the bits i needed (and some bits i didnt.

Don't put yourself down. I've had work done by people capable of patting their own backs. Seeing the job done by someone who knows what they are doing is a pleasure.

You not only do good work (and have shown me how to do a couple of jobs, but you are a good man. Love how you show these young ladies how to do things and how patient you are.
