Had a similar issue on my BMW and of course I am DYI and do not have the diagnostic tools to look data. Had airbag light on and all the buttons on the steering wheel did not work. Also rear wiper motor did not work as well. A shop said clock spring is gone. I checked my horn circuit with a test light and the clock spring was grounding the relay so I moved towards the ignition switch and found out that part of it was loosing about 6 volts. Replaces the switch, problem solved. Any way great video just thought I' d share my experience

17: 00 Not Phillips, JIS Screws. All Japanese cars and most Asian cars use JIS. Similar to philips, but not philips. Philips screw drivers cam out of JIS fasteners.
I have a set of Vessel JIS screwdrivers which have a very cool impact feature built in. Looks like you are using the exact same screwdrivers, so you already knew what JIS Screws are!

Great video, however my VERY next step would be to disassemble the old clockspring unit so I can see the wire broken. I know it's pretty pointless because you already proved it to be faulty, but I like to see the failure point in things like this. I seem to remember him taking one apart before.

Those airbag retaining screws can be a nightmare on older Honda/Acura vehicles. Stripped bolt heads. to much lock tight. think they were allen key, not torx. Also usually was a little trap door on underside of wheel to defuse the bomb before removing the bag assy. Was there no such on the newer Pilot?

Curiosity question why dont you guys use plastic seat covers and floor matts? Dont you guys get dirty lol our foot prints in my shop are always black in a customers car lol we need the covers in order to keep their cars clean we try to make it look like we were never there.

here at honda, we use 3/8 impacts on the steering wheel bolt. Btw there is a clock work spring recall on these vehicles which replaces the clockwork spring, angle sensor, and the steering wheel wire harness for the buttons which is tucked inside of the steering wheel; )

Loved your comment about using your left hand if you're right handed. I laughed so loud, I had to explain to my wife what was so funny and I got a puzzled look back. I guess that you have to have been damaged in life to understand. The grenade pin was pretty funny too.
