Sell your car for free with Carwow: Meet the all-new Ferrari 12 Cilindri! It’s Ferrari’s replacement for the 812 Superfast, and it may just be the last V12-fronted Ferrari ever released! But with that in mind, could it potentially be the greatest Ferrari ever released! Let’s take a closer look. Starting with the design, if anything it’s not exactly instantly recognisable as a Ferrari! Rather than look similar to the 812, Ferrari wanted the Cilindri to be modern and futuristic, with very few sharp creases or sculptured body panels. However, fear not Ferrari fans! There are still a few classic design elements, including the design of the daytime running lights, and the way the headlights wrap around the front bumper, similar to the 365 Daytona. Step inside, and the interior seriously reminds us of the Purosangue - apart from the lack of back seats, of course! There are three screens on the inside, including one on the dash for the passenger. There’s also lashing of Alcantara throughout, but would you expect anything else from a Ferrari that will likely cost 300, 000 Now let’s get to the centrepiece of the 12 Cilindri - the engine! It’s based on the 6. 5-litre V12 from the old 812 Competizione, and it generates an eye-watering 830hp and 678Nm of torque! It comes with a couple of key upgrades over the old engine, including special aluminium alloy pistons, and titanium con-rods that are 40% lighter than the steel ones. So what do you think - could this be the greatest Ferrari of all time You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

Starting to see a design trend with Ferrari. Going forward, I anticipate that they’re going to continue to heavily incorporate elements from legacy models into their new ones, which is well, fine, for all intents and purposes, but it kind of takes the edge out of the lineup.
No more groundbreaking designs like the Paninfarina-penned F12, 458, F430, etc. Just Ferrari Style Center refreshes 488, 812, and so on. Not faintly as much heart or passion. For the layman, it’ll spell a slow death to a brand that we knew once stood for elegance, speed, and prestige, but for the customer, it’ll mean nothing more than an opportunity to retain VIP client status, no matter how gaudy or garish the design. Looking at you, SF90 XX, the first XX to be both less hardcore and less exclusive than any other XX that precedes it.

Will it be Ferrari's last ever naturally aspirated V12, maybe for the European market but what about their extensive and highly profitable Middle Eastern market. A massive and highly lucrative marketplace that doesn't have the same desire in achieving Net Zero targets in such a ludicrously short period of time.
Will they simply walk away from such a profitable and lucrative market, it would be foolhardy for them if they did, surely.

First, Maserati gave us the Four Door. Then, Ferrari gave us the Twelve Cylinder. Maybe sounds better to most of us in Italian, but does it really sound better to an Italian Somehow I doubt it. On the one hand very matter of fact and descriptive; on the other very lazy and unimaginative. Oh well, at least we know the V8TT is not going to be an option as it was in the GTC4Lusso. Thank goodness for that, at least.

Can't just be me in thinking cars are now really staring to look more like their in game aka GTA knock offs in their design Not sure if its because there appears to be this design choice of trying to keep it minimal whilst also having certain aesthetics that almost look they come from the 80/90s.
Actually I saw another comment which says Honda CRZ and its pretty much exactly that.

Although it has more HP and the fact that it is newer means that it is better, I would still prefer the old one. The 812 Superfast has an angrier face and the back still has the traditional 4 circular red lights at the back. This one basically switched the front for the 296 GTB and the back of a Puerosague.

Looks a bit like a Honda in the front end. The back 3/4 view looking over the roof is not attractive. This area is butt ugly.
If I bought one I'd take it to Pininfarina and say reskin this for me thanks guys. Ferrari V12s used to be a thing of beauty to behold. This is not. What a missed chance.

Im a Ferrari fan, but that thing looks like an ugly honda and doesnt look like a design for a fast car. Doesnt even gives luxus. And i cant even see it happening like with the Roma that people hated it on it and then sell 1000units a year. This is just ugly and not Ferrari, looks like an electric car

It’s Alright, it looks like a CRV a Kia, The Name it’s SOOO Boring Ferrari 12 Cilindri So uninspiring i could come up with a better name even though I’ve named cars i make so many times I’m running out of ideas, Honestly it doesn’t deserve the Ferrari badge put a Dino sticker on it.

After the EU altered the plans to still allow combustion engines after 2035, granted only with efuels, probably lets Ferrari continue V12 engines indefinitely.
I like the rear of the new V12 but I hate the front. The 812 Superfast is the better looking car though, no doubt.

Ughh. What people want from a ferrari:
V12. gated manual. Bentley quality buttons and no capacitative. and a design without silly frontends because the only people who appreciate fugly call backs are snooty heads of design.
You're welcome Ferrari design team.

Such a downgrade. From a name 812 Superfast’ to 12 Cilindri’. Looks worse, name sucks, full of gimmicky tech and the price will probably astronomical too. Don’t know who would buy this, Ferraris’ recent designs and direction is looking like BMWs to me.

The rear end and the side profile look very nice and updated keeping to the current generations styling but my god have they dropped the bag with the front end design. The long V12 hood is nice but everything in front of it looks awful.

If you count the number of seats then this Ferrari is more like the Aston Vantage while the Roma has 4 seats like the DB12. So this is a front engine supercar while the Roma is the GT sportscar.

Thinking Ferrari should be the next trend setter. What about fostering a new breed of V14! 5. 5L twin turbo 1200 street hp. Monster with both a DCT -10 spd or a 7 speed manual transmission!

For a High Class Sport Luxury Company, they sure love to butcher the names of their cars to bellow white thrash peasant level. Some of those names are straight up rhetwarded

Poor effort, you couldn’t even be bothered going for the launch. Just voiceover with pics. Not good at all
But Ferrari brilliant as always

This is a good looking car. Very good looking. I am impressed, and I am not one to get easily impressed.
Makes the 812 look dated.

reply

Sorry but this looks completely crap. If I pay this much money for a car last thing I want is for it to look like a station wagon lol.
reply

People saying it’s a bad design don’t know shit about design and ferrari history, people used to hate on the roma looks too
reply

It will be amazing to drive and the sound will be unreal but its easily one of the worst looking front engined GTs they've done.
