Change your car with Carwow: This is the all-new Maserati GranTurismo Folgore! It marks a significant milestone as Maserati's first fully electric vehicle, embodying the brand's commitment to luxury and performance in the electric era. Folgore, meaning lightning in Italian, aptly reflects the car's electrifying capabilities. The GranTurismo Folgore maintains Maserati's iconic design language, featuring a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette with a low stance. Up front, you’ll find the usual large grille, flanked by sharp LED headlights. The sculpted bodywork and distinctive trident emblem on the front and rear further emphasise its luxury sports car heritage. Step around to the rear, and no fakery can be found here. It all looks smart and elegant, as you’d expect. Inside, the GranTurismo Folgore is doused in soft-touch, high-quality materials throughout the cabin. There are two screens in the centre of the dash - one housing the infotainment system, and another for managing the climate controls. The seats are comfortable and premium, and the steering wheel's physical buttons allow the driver to easily control functions. At the heart of the GranTurismo Folgore is a sophisticated electric powertrain comprising three motorstwo at the rear and one at the frontdelivering a combined output of 751hp. This setup enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2. 7 seconds, showcasing its impressive performance capabilities. The 83kWh battery allows for a range of up to 280 miles on a single charge. But of course, it doesn’t come cheap! The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore costs around 180, 000 - a whole lot more than a petrol-powered GranTurismo. But is it worth it You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself. We've seen this car before. Maserati electrified a 2015 Celica and slapped on new plastic body panels. Sadly this Italian beauty looks dated. Nobody payed you any attention because she looks over a decade old. Besides Maserati is no longer the prestigious brand she once was. A 2014 GHB, ahem. I mean Ghibli, looks more premium and newer than this little number. Dont get me wrong, she is beautiful. but dated. They will struggle to sell this model. Perhaps a joint venture with Toyota would sell more units. A Celica badge would not look out of place.

100% of the justification for the everything is on a screen that everyone hates so much, is that it's Infinitely customisable.
Maserati: Doesn't shift the buttons across for RHD cars.
The real reason is and always has been because it's cheaper.
And it's even cheaper again to only have a single screen layout and lie about how great screens are because they can be customized.

I hate EV’s, but as Richard Hammond mentioned in one of his videos recently, car manufacturers are forced to produce some percentage of EV’s to keep on producing ICE vehicles. Let those who want to buy an EV buy it, which leaves ample ICE vehicles for us petrol heads. Do i like this car being an EV No, but good for those who want to buy it.

What happened to the good old just jump in and launch of old. This faffing about with options is annoying. Besides perhaps suspension just have it on full power all the time. Maserati should have also done the GT replacement based on the concept they had but no. its a re-styled old GT.

Maseratis are already horrendously unreliable as is. The only trade-off is the sound and driving experience for the 5 days of the year it isn't broken, which is great. And now that is gone as well. So the car is horrendously unreliable and not nice to listen to or nice to drive

A 200k electric sports car with a real world range of 150 ish miles. What a load of tosh and what an utterly needless invention. Just give it 3 years and you will be able to pick one of these up for less than 50k
Electric cars my arse.

I can't believe this car was made by the same factory that produced the legendary Gran Turismo in 2006, which had a Ferrari engine. Even the headlights look odd and uninteresting to me. It's just another electric disappointment. 2: 55

I like it. Just as nice looking as the gasoline powered one, but it will have better performance. And usually engines or transmissionms are what die on these things, and all that is not in here, so they might be a lot more reliable.

So Many Brainwashed Comments here.
When You will Grow Up Boys, You will Understand that Italian Cars are better then German Cars.
Plus, The German Manufacturers Copy Many Design Elements from Italian Manufacturers.

I hope all you guys making snide remarks about fast depreciation are correct.
A few months ago I let the most beautiful previous generation Grancabrio on sale for cheap pass me by and been regretting it ever since!

The appeal before was that you were buying something that had a ferrari-like engine in it. without that it just feels like a shell. because it definitely wasnt for value, reliabilty, pedigree or practicality.

Should be going into more detail on the built-in NAV for EVs. Yes their Android Auto and Apple CarPlay but the navigation can be important when it is used to enable battery preconditioning for charging

all the salty anti-EV boomers saying they don't want it. Okay Grandpa, I'm 100% sure you all have 3 other ICE Maseratis on your drive and Maserati are very sad to hear you don't like their new one.

when Maaserati dropped those incredible sounding Ferrari v8's all those years ago, the cars became pointless. They are Chrysler parts bin junk, and now theres an electric one whats the point

Maserati being Maserati it’s usually a bad choice, but they look so insanely good, u can’t really hate on it. If I ever get the funds, I’m definitely taking the risk.

The level of carwow is going down-down ALOT. Always trying to find something of a sensation in terms of negative. Matt you are losing the grip. This is very annoying.

Stunning car. EVangelists everywhere will be wetting their underwear, while the rest of us continue with our ICE dinosaur that actually does what we want from a car.
reply

I’ve always thought all Maserati’s look like they’re stuck in 2008 ish, but they also looks good. Something that will look decent for 15/20 years.

ive heard of cars where pushing the gear down paddle is the same as pulling on the gear up paddle, maybe thats the case here too, for the launch control

It's funny, but at 10: 53 seconds, the clip shown was filmed in Nova Scotia, Canada from a world renowned television series called The Trailer Park Boys.
