Watch our family MPV group test of the VW Touran, Citroen C4 Picasso and Kia Carens. Mat Watson finds out which is best in this versus video review That: At least put a S/C-Max in it. because my Touran 2011 drives great, I haven't found anything more comfortable, but now it reaches 10 years it's 1 repair after another. After 170k a new (double) clutch went in and I am looking at a revision of pistonrings. Over the past few years I tried bmx, alfa stelvio, renault grand scenic, tiguan, audi etc. but I drive home smiling in my Touran. The seats are great, it's quiet and it floats over the tarmac. So it probably grew on me but looking for another better brand which reaches the standard of comfort and practical use as the Touran!

The discussion here is veeeery emotional. Unbelievable, but cars touch your hearts quite a lot. Oooh, and the German car won the competition.
When I was to buy a van, I tested three different ones, and I did quite as the testers did here: How to drive, how to fold seats, how to install baby seats, what space is delivered, how does it feel. Is it practical in handling - and is there something -wowing-. Believe me or not - the Touran won by far, and it did not disappoint me anyhow. (The volkswagen garage people unfortunately did, but this is a different story)

Tried both a C4 grand Picasso and a Touran. Sorry the Touran is miles better. The dashboard layout is no nonsense and logical with clean lines. Middle seats are nice and big. Rear seats have loads of head room. Closing the doors, you have that airtight sound which will reduce road noise. Sound system is good, lcd screen is quick and responsive. Really good overall MPV no matter how boring the exterior looks.

I bought the Citroen after trying the VW. Reason - it-s usable space is greater than the other 2. I-ve now done several 640 mile journeys to France, 3 adults, 2 teenagers, a dog - in a crate and all out luggage for a three week holiday. 70-80mph on large parts of the journey. Car returned 52mpg (120bhp 1. 6 diesel). Arrived after 13 hours feeling fine, zero arguments from the children etc.

Just love the cruising of the Touran. I would not trade it for anything else. Kudos. The fact that I can also attend to my calls through Bluetooth helps on long drives. The seats are comfortable, great fuel consumption and peformance. Yeah! Great family car. Ranking has no effect on me rather the utility of the vehicle. I love the length, the space and the running.

I have driven both as rental cars. The Citroen and the VW. The Picasso feels two classes higher in terms of ride, comfort and interior.
It also has the best stock stereo i've ever come across (JBL) and its navigation was better (more accurate) than that of the Touran.

I don't really see the point of having climate controls within the touch / infotainment system. I really like the fact that if having a real button, lever or knob I can go always to same spot without even looking, without having to go thru a menu or screens.

I have a Grand Picaso and i find the touchscreen perfectly fine- it just takes a bit of getting used to. Defitintly better than the Touran. Plus the seating situation on the Citroen is fine- ur just impatient- rly not that big of a deal

Sure the VW might not be the most exciting choice but the most sensible one when you consider resale value, better built quality and money spent where it matters. Your Kia/Citroen will look outdated in a few years, not with the VW.
