Seven seat SUVs: they're big, comfy and posh. The Volvo XC90, Audi Q7 and Land Rover Discovery are three of the best, so which should you choose? Watch as I compare their styling, interiors and practicality before heading out onto the road to work out which is the nicest to drive. It's one of our biggest group tests ever. Literally! Hey Maths Watson! Great to have you bag. Alright let's step up to the podium for the winners and the loosers. Let's see now. Listenc carefully now. I have been seeking to buy the SUV for the family did I buy it no i did note i bouthgt the M5 as a family car budnow my children say look here father can we have a big car? I do look closely and all i see are SUVs when I seartch for them on carwoe even though I donut likve in your land if Eng. My main one is the discovery do you know why i will tell you exactly why the reason is that the audi will fail i mean it will break down on the road in one place and the children cannote be sadder i did have many audis even the a8 oh my did it break down? The answer is an imfattic yes! The Q7 4, 2 TDi V8 it was lovely fast and smoth bud iwas very scared ones the tyre went flat going durbanwise we could note find another spare tyre for many results eventually we did remember 21 inches is long for a wheel. I wish for the discovery as in my country south africa we can use it without prejiduce in many ways to drive on roads with porthole with no potthole with sand with gravel with the brown roads anywhere we can pushittothemax! Nice one with the Volvo car the music i mean it did bring to my face a smile but i have since stopped smiling.

When I was born, my parents had a XC90. When I was around 3 Years old, we switched to a Disco 2. Since then we ever had a Disco. And we did serious offroading with every single one. Even with the Volvo. And the only things, that ever managed to stop us were:
P3: a Harvester
P2: dead ends in the wood
P1: fallen trees
And cince I can think my grandparents driva a Volvo too: a V40 (predecessor unknown, and then two XC60s
And if my first car won't ba a Ford, it will be a Land Rover or a Volvo too.

volvo xc90:
1. stunning exterior
2. comfy interior
3. more reliable than the other two in terms of maintenance cost, and engine breakdown( do not take my words for granted, there is a video from carwow ranking brands for their reliability. go check it)
4. safest vehicle
Get a volvo if you want to be driven around; like in India, volvo is a luxury brand and people consider it to be driven around in the cities, or move within the state. People do not really use such vehicles to go off road.

A few years on and all the 3 models have received a face-lift now (June 2021. I ended up exactly with this trio on my shortlist a few months ago. Diesel is still very relevant in this segment and the lack of a six cylinder on the Volvo took it out of the list eventually, the petrol cannot cope decently with towing. Looks (a totally subjective matter) and capability on the Disco ended up making it a winner for me. Still waiting for the delivery though as waiting times are over 4 months.

I have a 2012 Q7.
Looks blend in with everything else kinda boring. Dark drab colors and dated appearance.
It has the 280hp 3. 0t and it's not fast at all.
I'm getting a tune soon to wake it up.
It is solid as a rock and a tank in the snow.
I get about 23mpg highway even with the AC on and 4 people.
Mine is so dark blue people often say it's black. Has a dark gray bottom and bright gray wheels. clashes.

Its a good review, although I wouldn't go with the Audi. It is normal for the engines to consume a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so, so be sure to keep a couple quarts with you in those convenient door compartments. I for one believe that a manufacturer of a vehicle, at this price point, should have engineered a more reliable engine, because adding oil between oil changes does not feel very luxurious.

I knew it I knew the Audi is the worst of the three in the back like how crowded it is it-s all and I don-t know if it-s the most expensive one imagine if it-s the most expensive one with that less room it would be a nightmare I think the Land Rover is the best the three in the back look not so much headroom in the back of the AudiWith a sloping roof

Discovery: I will love to have one but I wanna go somewhere rather than only service.
Audi: It just fits for anything. It's nice. But in anyway s-line trim is needed. Something looks so normal with this car.
XC90: Doesn't have same engine options as Audi but still it is nice.

Volvo should have kept thefloating centre console, as that was a unique feature. Now, it just looks generic. But that said, I would definitely have one, and I would have the Disco 5 too. But the Audi, I don't care for, its very, meh.

Drove XC90, XC60 and they are both good and offer a lot but still when you seat and drive a long distance, bad roads with a lot of curves german cars are reliable cars I would use for business trips. Volvo is a more family car.
