The Hyundai i10 is designed for buyers searching for a small, nippy car that-s easy to drive on city streets. Tiny dimensions and light steering make it easy to park, and a light weight means that it doesn-t use much fuel. But what happens if you need to venture further afield? How does it cope out on the open road, and is there space for your friends in the back? I find out this and much more in my full in-depth review

I own the active version 1. 2, the car is great to drive, as a new driver i found it easy and responsive making it the friendliest car for someone starting fresh.
Cons:
Because of the small engine, if you want to drive in the most efficient way you need to put the 5th gear at around 50km but at that gear passing
another car is difficult until it reaches 2. 5-3k engine speed so a lot of times i am staying at 4th gear even at 80km, since the engine speed doesn't reach above 2. 5k it's fine.
Road noise is quite a problem if you don't put any music playing during driving, also the suspensions are quite stiff, i feel quite a lot the road and as a greek citizen which has terrible roads compared to countries like germany it's quite annoying.
I would assume for the road noise once you reach the point changing tires go for softer ones to reduce road noise.
After moving your seat and lock it down it still needs to be pushed to actually lock in position or else it will happen while you drive and there is a bit of movement happening at that time, so don't get scared or suprised by it.
The passenger seatbelt infront does a noise from the inside, can be fixed if you have the seatbelt locked.
Backward gear sometimes doesn't work so you need to put another gear to fix it quickly, regardless that's rare and easy to fix during that time.
No roof light for the back passengers.
Booth has nothing smart to use or hidden space room besides the tire and the necessary tools to replace one when needed.
Front vents for the driver could have been placed better cause a lot of the air even after adjusting is hitting on the steering wheel.
Pros:
Gear box is working great.
Side mirrors are big, great for parking.
I personally like hard seats where you don't sink to much and keeps your back supported, at least compared to our opel vectra which are really soft and you actually sink in them.
Great music Speakers, quite loud for such a cheap model, has bass and clean sound.
Space for different things in different locations being within reach for everyone.
Has 1 Usb port to use it for music only/ flashdrives, 1 Aux, 2 electricity ports.
The floor for the back passengers in the middle is flat instead doing a bump, so the leg space is even better.
A lot of room for the front passengers, feeling like in a limousine.

Both my i10s have had progressive, strong and predictable brakes, one of the best features of the car in fact, no idea what's wrong with the one you drove! The only car I've driven whose brakes acted like you described were fitted to a 2011 Seat Ibiza. Also while I agree there is some road (tyre roar) noise, on the whole the cabin is far quieter (I would say measurably) than the 2015 Fiesta mine replaced, it's also better at soaking up bumps.

I have an I10 for 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! It is quit agile, quick and comfortable! I have a local media system with all the things you nned (Waze nav, BT, Internet radio, reverse camera etc. I drive a lot on the motorway and you do not feel out of your depth. I would I like it to be a bit more punchy (maybe with a 1 LT Turbo Eng, but I really can't complain, It is amazing value for money, and it has a lot of personalty

I am 6 foot 1 and I determined that it was too small for me and my 2 kids, IE if I was driving they would have insufficient space in the back.
In fairness they moaned that a K12 Micra was small.
They are happy In my Astra J.
My wife hired one of these and hated it, called it underpowered, said it was less powerful than a K12 Micra.
In fairness she prefers bigger cars and drives a 2000CC Diesel Octavia.

The reverse problem appear sometimes when u don't press the cluch to its full! I think it is more of a protection stuff (no one want to pass reverse in place of 4 th lol. I have one (1. 2 petrol) and i can told u it is soo good. Its size help a lot in town, it brake very well when needed and it accelerate very quickly. It does very well in the highway, i already drove it with 120km/h and it did so damn well.

If you want a good useable cheap to run fun little car they are great. Not much room for EGOS if you have one of them get an Audi or bmw

I don't get it. This is quite frankly, the best city car you can buy, and you SHORTLIST it? I sure hope you don't say -buy- in the VW UP review because it's a VW. Because it's inferior to the i10 in almost every single way, and in terms of -practice- comparisons (don't confuse with practicality, which still, is far better than an UP) it's better in everything aside from the subjective things.

Just bought one of these. 14 miles on the clock. So far, I'm happy.
3: 07 Yes there is tethering points, where it says -tethering points- on the boot floor, you can see them once the floor base is lifted up, they pop through the carpet.
Oh, and don't be so heavy handed. I bet all your cars are wrecked. I'd never buy a car off this guy! Lol.

The Getz 1. 6 Auto 2door 185tyres power mirrors (ours 2003) was better. Reliable! 2 globes over 15 years. Great city car. Okay on freeway. Accent only option here but Kia sell Picanto. [ps. our other car (Avalon) fitted in garage - why don't Poms have inhouse dua+l garages standards here? ] ps. Getz once hit 200kph & had a few k to spare.

The SAT NAV is also available on the Go SE model which is cheaper than even the premium range. I would suggest people to go for Go SE as it is the limited edition and quite reasonable. It is even cheaper than the SE blue. I dont understand why Go SE is not mentioned on any of the i10 videos. Look at the brochure for i10. Best deal
