This is the Toyota Prius. The model name has become a byword for eco-friendly cars - but is there more to it than just strong fuel economy figures? I find out in this full, in-depth review

The hate that Toyota and prius gets is just classist and pathetic. Car enthusiasts forget that NOT EVERYONE IS A CAR ENTHUSIAST.
Some of us just want a car that is RELIABLE, will last forever with minimal maintenance besides the basics, isn't a gas guzzler is economic on our wallet and in the environment
Like if you hate the prius don't get one then? If you want a fancy car that can go 0 to 100 mph or can be modified and has all sorts of cool shit then get a different car? Like sorry the prius isn't up to your sports car or trucks standards lmao but it's not a sports car or a truck. It's a prius
Anyways I love them and I can't wait to get rid of my kia in a year or so and get a prius

2010 Golf has the isofix attachpoints hidden in the seat. 2017 Toyota: Let's just put them where you can see them all the time and hide them with a cover you can easily loose. It's just killing me how asian cars get small stuff wrong so often. I really like the Golf for it's usability. Someone actually has designed it to be used by people! Sure in the reliability department Toyota wins hands down. But they really should watch thing like: The seat belt doesn't get jammed behind the seat when you unfold the back seat. Small things but makes you less needing to think about what you are doing.

Put it this way. taxi companies are scrooges when it come to fleet imaintainance. Unlike their drivers, the car themselves cant really complain if its underfunded. Keep the fleet well enough to pass the MOT and all is good.
So if a taxi company is buying a certain nameplate in droves and ur looking for a long-term (more than 10 years, reliable, no-nonsense car, buy what the taxi companies r using.

I never understand why people hate on it so much. It's a really reliable, comfortable, relaxed, economical way to transport people. It's not fast, stylish or whatever but it isn't meant to be - that's not it's job. About a bazillion minicab and Uber drivers know this.
It may not be right for you - but doesn't make it bad, and probably it's perfect for someone else.

The bar across the rear window is exactly the right position to cover following cars headlights. My gen 2 1. 5 is a little more noisy but returns 62 mpg going to Cornwall from E Anglia. My Gen3 is much quieter (other than road noise) and will do 70mpg. Both have been -bullet proof- for reliabilty They just work. Gen 2 is 10. 5yrs old and battery still top notch.

I never imagined owning a Prius, but after my wife just had to have it - we love it! The best and most reliable car (other than Saab) we ever had! Literally unbreakable. Silly simple, drives like a dream, fits the kids in the back and leaves enough space for extensive shopping. Actually, I'm looking for a second one to replace my car!

ISTG The comment section is filled with people with boners for prius
Lets face it, its ugly and its trash, drive a Honda Insight and you'll know what i mean, its miles better.
-Better styling, better interior, better handling, better resale (where i live, better cargo area, and heck it dosent have that over the top futuristic theme-

Cab drivers in prius always force priority, I just can-t think positively of these cars. Is there any other economical option for driving in the city? Something that doesn-t look like uber car, not too small (nothing fiat 500 sized) and economical? Is ford focus a good option? This supposed to be a second family car next to our vw tiguan.

For regen you're better off not braking but just taking your foot off the accelerator, like an EV, will send electrons into the battery. I pulse and glide and then take foot totally off the accelerator well ahead of the red lights coming up and that recoups the most energy, which you can feel when you launch off from the lights.

The prius and plus which are the older shape are better looking. Most of the taxi drivers in barcelona have them some with bigger alloys on 5 spoke. The older shape with the bigger alloys looks awsome in black and yellow taxi colour. These cars arnt that slow. Get them on the motorway and they shift.
