Will probably turn out to be the best of the small SUVs for the people that like them. The VW 1. 0 3 cylinder engines are sensational in terms of power and economy and can't be beaten in that class. In fact they are easily powering cars as big as Octavias with ease. People like to knock these SUVs but their sole purpose is to achieve a higher ride height for easier access (not every new car buyer is under 50, in fact most are over), better visibility and greater storage and space than the equivalent hatchback. That's about it really. The biggest downside of this car will be cost - it's very high if you want the spec of equivalent rivals and it's bland standard hatchback, no dual tone paint looks. Wouldn't have been interested in my youth but now?

The Kamiq was literally love at first sight. When Skoda presented the Vision X over a year ago, I thought the design was absolutely gorgeous, much like the Citroen SUVs but a little more refined. I couldn't wait for that awesome design to hit the streets, but I didn't have much hope. Little did I know that just one year later, Skoda would release a street-legal car that looks almost identical to the amazing Vision X concept car!

Well as others have pointed out the kodiak already has the pop out door protectors, would be nice if your information was accurate & as for your comment about fuel economy I. e. mpg I think we all know now the rolling road method all car companies does not give accurate information as using a small engine can look more economical until it is actually pulling the vehicle!

I don't understand the placement of the new Kamiq. Despite being 14cm shorter than the Skoda Karoq, it's wheelbase and interior room is more than 2 cm longer. Also the materials are top notch and it is much cheaper than the Karoq.
So why buy one, if the Kamiq offers more interior space, has also very good materials and is cheaper on top of it?

First I was split between the Kia Stonic and this the Kamiq. but that was clearly explained that the Skoda was better. but then new problem was revealed. the Kamiq or the Scala ( cut the later one is more spacious surprisingly. any opinions?

Honestly. Could Skoda have designed a more boring car? I doubt it.
Why do Scoda follow VW design philosophies? We wait for them to buck the trend and wow us, but sadly it's the same old style and another cure for insomnia.

That extra ground clearance should come in really handy for city driving. It's so annoying if some animal or elderly person crossing the street gets stuck in the front grill of my hatchback, takes ages to clean up that mess.

I still like the arona that little bit more. Unfortunately its not available in Australia. The kamiq however most likely is. Seat I-m begging you please sell in Australia your cars are amazing and look great!

I reckon the vast majority of the public could swap the manufacturer's badge over on any of these SUVs and not tell much difference. They are bone achingly bland - maybe similar to the people who drive them.

I was informed by skoda insider that they launched this model to fight models like Hyundai creta in asian markets as this is their bread and butter and asian car companies where eating away at that market.
