Also, we in India have a diesel option, which is just as good as the 1. 0L petrol. Now if you'd have driven this car with the same 1. 0L TGDI engine in India, because the driving lane sides and steering sides are exactly similar, and a little bit of similarity you'd get in road conditions here in India also, because roads have improved much, then you'll feel like, -ah, this is more punchy and powerful than what i've driven in Britain-, although, by reading reviews of this car so far, i've got to know that the driving dynamics are pretty similar in both guise, which is better than the previous gen car.

When I was searching for a new car, being a young man, this review threw me off from this car a little bit. But I'm glad I still went ahead and decided to give it a test drive. I feel as if this whole review is staged. Especially when he's on the highway and acting as if the car doesn't have enough oomph to pull away. It is a lie; it does have more than enough oomph.
I'm not too sure why Matt hated on this so much, I tried out this, the Polo and the Fiesta and I can safely say that the i20 was the best looking, most comfortable and almost as fun to drive as the Fiesta.

You'll be surprised to know that the i20 in India is much better than that of the UK i20. How you may ask, Here are the reasons:
1. Better fit and finish (look at the review of Indian i20 and check out its interior)
2. Many engine options:
- 1. 2L petrol (4 cylinder)
- 1. 5L diesel (4 cylinder)
- 1. 0 L turbo (which produces 118bhp of power and 172 Nm of torque, the UK counterpart as per this video, only produces 100bhp of power)
3. Many transmission options:
1. Manual
2. IMT
3. DCT automatic
4. Many free colour options
Seems like Hyundai is upset with Britishers calling them -Hayundai-.

Hi Matt, nice review that helped made my choice for this i20 about 6 months ago: ) however, here in France we have slightly different caracs for the high-level: no heated seats (shame, dual-clutch automatic gearbox with 7 speeds (very cool, and gives a level 2 autonomous driving, two-tone paint (black on the roof) and the car is fitted with 17- Hankook Ventus Prime 3 tires (less noise tan Michelin, and grips a bit better on the dry.
After more than 10k kilometers, it's a very nice car, playful on twisty roads, awesome on long highways trips! If I had to change it, it would only be for the N version with 204hp -

The footage of overtaking capability on the motorway is totally staged, unless the model being driven is the 1. 2L 84BHP base spec version (not available with mild hybrid)! Having driven the 100PS 1. 0L turbo 7 speed DCT, it has more than plenty enough oomph to zip past traffic in the outer lane, without holding up on-coming vehicles, especially vans (utter nonsense! Furthermore, it is very composed overtaking on motorway bends with Lane keep assist. Why is Matt deliberately driving like an octogenarian at 9: 22 (-Driving Miss Daisy- impersonation)?

Not sure which ones are better to be honest, every other small hatch reviewed by Matt has its flaws it seems, whether they be design, driving experience or practicality related. I've had a test drive of an i20, and the only flaw I could find is the dash design - it is a bit dull looking but comes to life a bit more when the two digital displays are on. And the Drive mode selector does make quite a bit of difference - unless you're used to such features on much more expensive and high powered cars I suspect (which I'm not.

damn, when i see one of my students really bad at elementary math as basica as ascending and decending numbers, i suggest their parents a career as a car reviewer. VW polo 351lt < i20 352Lt < Skoda 330lt.
Also, if you cant put a fifth Suitcase in there, its only coz u dnt want that 5th person travelling with you to the airport.

Who cares about hard plastics on a dashboard?
I don't fondle or squeeze the one in any of my vehicles.
The only time I touch the dashboard is to clean it.

I thought I'd check this review out, because I have one at the moment, while my car is in the garage. Yes, it feels cheap and plasticky, but it's way better than the Corsa they gave me last time, which was even more cheap and plasticky and didn't have half the features this does.

Bad review, i have the i20 for 5 months and its amazing. The interior is so good and different compared to other cars in b segment which are like the just put a tablet in at the last minute. This (if you need space) or 208 are the top 2 choices in supermini category.
