This is the new Peugeot 208! The second-generation 208 comes with a stylish exterior overhaul, a whole load of interior tech upgrades (including Peugeot-s i-Cockpit, along with petrol, diesel and fully-electric variants! With these flashy looks there-s no denying it has both the Polo and Fiesta in its sights, but does it offer the full package to be able to compete as one of the best small cars of 2019? Looking to buy my first car this year and I'm between the new Clio and the 208! The Clio has retained the same philosophy of the previous model on the outside (and its not a bad thing) but it still looks very modern. On the inside it is completely new and the construction and the materials seem to be of very high quality for this class.
The 208 is a completely new design, inside-out and it gives out a more futuristic look and the build quality seems to be on par with the Clio. I think I like the 208's design a bit more! Looking forward to read some reviews when they become available around autumn!

Peugeot was making some of the most beautiful cars out there in the 1980s and early 1990s and then. then by mid-90s something happened and they started making some of the worst cars out there, also cancelling huge success such as the line of Peugeot 205 Rallye/GTi and 405 Mi16, for what? Only thing they managed was to make Peugeot a proverb. Luckily and thanks to new competent teams by 2010s Peugeot restored its former glory with the superb 208, 308, 508, 3008, 5008 now with this second generation of such superb designs. They are nailing it and we love it.

Very nice looking and I do have to agree it is better looking than the fiesta. the clio is starting to age a bit, i love the new polo (even if it is a bit unadventurous looking and conservative but that is just VWs thing and there is nothing wrong with that. Love the design in and out, its just that i have absolutely no faith in Peugeots build qulity or engineering. I feel like ts a car you wouldn't want to own for a long time. (also radical looking cars generally age badly)

The new Peugeot 208 is driving amazingly well, the 100 HP 3-cilinder feels stronger than on paper. The steering is superb and the suspension also. I can drive so fast through my favourite curves that I can only conclude that this is the best hatchback right now. The 1-liter Ford Focus was totally crap especially the electronic overkill. Same for the new Mazda 3, good car but the electronic failures were just astonishing.

No heated seats for UK versions meant I had to look elsewhere. Why Peugeot don't offer them for an extra-cost option is beyond me. Other than that - nice looking car. German version gets heated seats as standard - as do some Eastern European versions. I opted for the new Golf 1. 5 R-Line instead which, thanks to a better list of options, enabled me to add heated seats as a stand-alone option.

Styling is a MASSIVE improvement. I used to think small Peugeots were so unsightly and very -un-Peugeot like- compared to their 1980's and early 1990's counterparts. They were too swoopy, soft and generic looking. This brings back that square shouldered, hunkered down look. It's too bad Peugeot isn't sold in the USA!

Overall it's a nice looking hatchback. The European cars look the best especially their small cars. The only thing I am not so sure about are the shape of the front fog lights. However, if it was offered in the States I would be happy to buy it, I am so sick of Toyota, Honda's, SUVs and crossovers.

Peugeot is starting to building good cars, I might buy a Peugeot in the future. I like their designs.
Ford is also starting to make some good looking cars I really like the new Focus, but the fiesta is old.
Ford-s interiors are very outdated and they are late in the electric car market.

nearly 20 years ago you could buy a clio dci turbo diesel that did 65+ mpg. my old 2008 clio averaged 63mpg but if i really wanted could get 75mpg.
so im guessing the 2020 208 does a very crap 50mpg because of ridiculous co2 restrictions, its really pathetic.

With this model and the two gens prior, it went from horrendously outdated, to pretty good, to best of the bunch design-wise. I just hope it doesn-t suffer from French car syndrome; looks good but poor reliability.
I-d say 208 > Fiesta > Clio > Polo
