I collected my new m135i this week, replacing my 2017 m140i(which I loved. I initially did not like the look of the new model, but in truth it looks so much better is person (plus pack is a must for larger alloys) and after sitting both side by side, I think the new model looks much better. The photos and videos do not do the new model any justice.
In terms of comparison, the m140i is better if you like to spend your weekends going as fast as you can in a straight line. The m135i wins in every other aspect, albeit without the 6 cylinder sound.
The interior in vastly superior in terms of tech and quality of components. I did not realise how dated the m140i felt until I sat in the m135i. The driving position is much better and general feel is great. Being quite tall(6ft3) I find the new car much comfier and a lot more spacious.
The m135i performance is superb, and does not leave me wanting for the m140i, especially in the miserable Scottish weather where I can now plant the right foot in the knowledge that I will go forward. Quickly.

Now then, we have been lucky enough to have both an M140i and the new M135I x drive in our family, and take it from me if you put the sound to one side the new car is much better, and quite rapid, no where near as quick as our A45 AMG ours is the 380BHP model and a few years old now but it mullers both the Beemers in all areas, mind you on British roads with British weather the new car is quicker A-to- B Matt-s review is just playing to the masses and remedial at best.

I don't mind the new one series I just think it's trying too hard to be the same as it's rivals, 2 litre engine, a turbo, four cylinders, and 4wd is basically the same recipe for all other fast hatches like the a45 amg, golf r, i30n, and I think the focus rs. The old one was different, rear drive and a 3 litre straight six, utter perfection in my books. I think they have just butchered it a bit.

Guys I'm so confused. so bmw created this form. inspired the Ferrari FF and others. And now got tired of making one of the most beautiful car look and decide to create a piece of shit that looks like all the normal cars from other brands.

I know the m140i is more powerful than the old m135i-. But the n55 engine stock sounds better. And isn-t much less powerful.
Both the old m135i and m140i are better than the new m135i by a long way.
(Yes I own the old m135i) --

i'd go m140i. bmw went for the 4 pot due to mpg being better and cheaper to manufacture than the 6 pot. its all about saving money to manufacture and charging the same or more which means bigger profit margin. business is business.

Reasons why the M140i is better:
- RWD and xDrive with RWD bias
- 3 liter 6 Cylinder
- More power = faster
- Better transmission
- 50/50 weight distribution
- better looking
M140i all day, every day

I've never liked the 1 Series. I dont think BMW ever got the styling right, and i wasnt impressed when i test drove one. If you want a small BMW that still looks and feels like a BMW should, buy a 2 Series. Better car.

Prefer my Mazda 3 to the new m135i, and I had a old m135i. hope bmw loses a shit ton because of the lineup changes.
Also managed to get a 4. 5s 0-100 out of it, along with a 15 second 110-210km/h pull.
