It's like a basking shark mated with a pikachu blowup doll, that's what happens when a country is overrun by immigrants getting a job as interns in the design departments and take over. Just another sign Deutschland will be done for if the borders aren't shut and their traditions and language aren't preserved. The Golf has always been a comparably handsome vehicle, this one got severely hit with an ugly stick.

Cost savings - 1) no real buttons for radio or A/C, only cheap chinese tablet - DANGEROUS, -
2) no real gauges, just cheap -cool- digital cockpit-
3) no real gear stick, cheap electronic - DANGEROUS, other brand car killed own drivers becasue car started mooved when he was opening garragre etc. -
New Golf, for me Golf owner - BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I'm 25 and none of this crap appeals to me. I'd rather stick to my mk4 golf. Why does everything have to become bland and over complicated? Why does everything have to become digital and touch screen? I prefer the good old physical diles. Plus cars have lost their personality, they are all starting to look the same.

So now you hav DLC for cars? What next? Loot boxes and unfinished cars.
I mean the idea that your car already has an option (hardware, but you have to pay to download the option (software, is a bit silly in my opinion. I guess it depends on what type of downloadable options, maybe Im jumping the gun.

After 3 GTI's and now a Golf R I'm done with VW, I'm out.
VW fatigue coupled with the abysmal dealership experience and service has me leaving.
Doesn't help that the incoming model is Fugly, IMO the current Golf R was the pinnacle of looks for the Golf line and that's not saying much.

The golf looks alright, far from perfect though. The Mercedes looks outdated, and it reminds me of a mosquito. Terrible design! Not all Mercedes are terrible though, but the pleb ones are -depressing-. The Gte looks absolutely dreadfull though, and are reminiscent of a Ford.

I can see that few people around talk about lights, nothing wrong with them.

I bet it's just as soulless to drive as all the previous generations. The GTI's and R's are made for people who want to go quick but don't like the drama and theatre a performance car brings. Which is usually why they're driven by 40 year old something men in black ties.

so the skoda scala is more roomy? why new golf is not longer than mk7 as is the scala. They are on same platform scala and mk8 I mean.
