The Ford F-150 is the best selling 'car' in the world - but is it deserving of such an accolade? Join Mat as he reviews the F150 Lariat SuperCrew version, which is armed with a 2. 7-litre V6 engine and two turbochargers! It has an output of 325hp, gets 520Nm of torque and goes from 0-60mph in around six seconds! But is it really worth that $47, 000 price tag? Let's see! For great car deals in the US, go to Edmunds

I bought a new 2017 F150 STX and still have it! I normally change cars every 12 months but this one is so good I can't bare to trade it in. It has the 2. 7 V6 with 330HP. it really moves! and I get 24mpg (in the states - who have smaller gallons than the UK, incase you didn't know. My 2017 STX has only covered 28K miles and still look like new. As for depreciation - I've lost less than $10K over 5 years which is insanely good! I paid $35, 000 and my trade in is $26, 000! I had it valued 2 weeks ago. It drives better than my wife's GLE Mercedes! Best purchase I've ever made.

The trouble with these -crew cab- trucks is the hopelessly small load carrying capacity. For comparison, a bmw 520 touring has more boot capacity - 1700 littes (with the seats down) than the standard size bed in this -truck- - 1500 litres. They are a jack of all trades, master of none, by trying to be a family car, off road vehicle and work van all in one.

Might is the best seller in North America but in the rest of the world Toyota is the King and even in North America Toyota is just a few numbers in some areas behind those brands of cars what really happen here is they want to say that it is the best when every body knows that is not true!
reply

There is a difference between the world and the USA although it is their aim to take over the world. Best seller in the USA does not mean best selling vehicle in the world. I have noticed that all motor journalists are horrified by a hard dashboard. Who said it must be soft and squishy?

yeah Matt wants land rover options 50k on leather dash, and all luxury and then go drive on farm. in mud and dust, drive tools, chickens and sheep's inside. ohh yeah Matt will get MK1 caddy pickup and use for work, he don't need expensive luxury for that. he need trash car!
reply

it's emblematic of the US in every way. it's oversized, people buy it for the image rather than because they actually need it, and beneath the surface it's poorly engineered. as soon as you look closely you realise how crappy it actually is
reply

Terrible American car. Useless for work ( because of the fuel consumption and price) and terrible to drive daily. And it probably cost as much as Mercedes s class
100 times better to get 2 door Porsche instead of this thing -

You forgot that the F150 offers blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage. That means you can tow your expensive boat or rv or horses and not ever have the fear of changing lanes into another vehicle.
reply

Another example of inexplicable American conformity. I'd understand if these were actually necessary for work. but no. it's like part of the Rural American Starter Pack. SMH
