They-re two of the most desirable sports cars money can buy, but which is faster in a quarter-mile drag race - the Audi RS5 Sportback or the Porsche 911 Carrera S? The Audi-s got a 2. 9-litre V6 engine, as well as 450hp and 600Nm torque! Is that enough to beat the Porsche-s 3. 0-litre flat-six, 450hp and 530Nm? Watch this intense head-to-head and find out!

Only in your dream the weight difference is only -100kg. If you just look at both cars size, then accept even porsche use better and lighter materials. you'll think about -200kg difference. I would say porsche 1550kg, then rs5 something like 1800kg (that panoramic sunroof is not considered when they claim that -1700kg- weight.
Then another difference in high speed acceleration is about transmission, as the porsche become RWD disconecting front axle completely, but rs5 remaining awd all the time (and i and others would prefer to do so, even if that affect hi-speed acceleration)

The 30G is also for brand reputation, the looks and depreciation factors. Porsche is so much more superior in terms of brand quality and value holding. You not losing a lot even at resale after couple of years. Different story with the Audi. Don-t get me wrong I-ve driven both of these car they r excellent but porsche is so much better at handling at that low central gravity

Add MTM Stage 1 upgrade for a few grand and they're likely equal, and the Audi is still much less money. I own the RS5 coupe, which is a head turner for sure, but it's still not a Porsche, which sets the standard for overall performance. Lots of people buy Porsches for the name, period. Impressing the neighbors because you're a Porsche owner is what the extra 30k is for.

I own a 2019 S5 and it-s such a fun car. Has everything that you need in a daily driving car + some more and it-s no slouch when you want to have a little fun while making all the right noises. So RS5 with that extra 90hp and torque must be magnificent.
However I do want a Porsche one day, preferably GT3RS.

Well, to make RS5 sportback owners feel better, if you ever wanna get married and have kids, at least you can still drive it every day to do anything - while the 911 may have to stay in the garage whenever you go out during a family trip (or even a romance trip if your wife packs more than 2 carry-on of clothes) lol

I've got a 2019 RS5 Sportback with just an intake and Stage I ECU tune and from 0-60 it will eat stock 911s for lunch. So it doesn't take $30k in performance mods. About $3k and the car pulls so hard it's really hard to believe. It just has so much more thrust than my 2018 911 GTS it's shocking, actually.

Speed --is just one option, the initial swing is just one option, the most important thing is the build quality and of course the interest. I love Audi and of course I love the Mustang GT500 Super Snake. It is at the peak of Ferrari, the highest point ever Ferrari.

People who don-t understand the mechanical aspect of -drivetrain loss- wont understand the reason for the Audi being slower.
Power rated on the flywheel may be identical but you have to always consider the power loss between the flywheel and actual wheels

It's not a 100 kilo difference. The 911 is about 3, 300 lbs and the RS5 is 4, 000 lbs. 700 lbs is a lot. Put a Stage I ECU tune on the RS5 and it's going to be right there with a 911 with an actual back seat, hatchback, and a lot more versatility.

The reason why the Porsche wins is because of the rpm. Porsche is downshifting and hence doing more rpm for the same power. The Audi has the torque too early and shifts too quick doing less rpm. That makes the Porsche quicker. No rocket science.
