Yes i'd choose this over the Golf, but best hatch? I'll go elsewhere for a good hatchback if I was buying a new one, modern VW's are highly unreliable, well built usually but soulless and unreliable. My father is a mechanic and the cars he has the most problems with coming to him are VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda anything else like a Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Volvo etc mainly are just in for serviceable parts. If you want a reliable VW car buy one built before 2001 lol

This car look quite good on the outside, although I would say the front is taken from Hyundai i30 and tha back looks like Kia Sportage. Inside however the cockpit looks horrible - too teutonic, like it was designed with a hammer. And touch controls of lights, aircon and radio - this is ridiculous on only works in dealers garage, when car is stationary, not on the move! Honda went from touch controls to buttons for a reason.

Forgive my minor carp Matt. and call me old fashioned. but at 2. 37. a heated steering wheel! What the Sam Hill is happening to car design! Are we heading towards a -can't help myself, oooooh, I got cold hands, please-do-it-for-me-society- Very soon cars will have mini-lifts to get us in the car without straining ourselves, and automatic forehead-wipes if even that was too much effort. it goes on.

If we throw all the CUV crap out of the equasion, then i don't understand why VAG is butchering Volkswagen like that. Expensive, ugly, boring
Compared to Seat now looking gorgeous and always having better driving feel. Or Skoda having comparable interior quality these days, still being cheaper and more practical.

Looks very much like the Megane, which, to be honest I actually prefer. This car wouldn-t get me in the showroom I-m afraid. Everything seems to look the same these days which begs the question, what-s the point of changing cars, might as well save the cash until your existing motor finally gives up.

A car ugly like this can't be in the -best ever- category. Leon mk3 owner here. This mk4 lost all the aggressiveness.
Although reading comments in many videos I noticed that the car design is more likeable outside of Spain. Majority of negative comments/opinions come by spanish people.

The last question I haven-t found an answer yet: does it have a torsion beam in all trims? or a multi-link rear suspension with more powerful (more than 150hp) versions similar to Octavia?
Talking about styling it reminds me first gen. Mazda 3 which I owned years ago.

Cant stand the fake exhausts. I replaced my MK7 golf with 2019 Leon FR sport because the MK7. 5 golf R line had fake exhausts. Looks like i will be looking at other makes in 2yrs for my next replacement because i wont go for new Leon due to the pretend exhausts

I have seen or heard noone adress the placement of the key. On the video it looks like you can place it in the slot right on the left hand side of the gear lever. Does it have to be there or does it just fint there?
