Wow, thanks Matt, about time this info hit the fan. And new data shows the increased height from big SUVs override the safety designs for all 5 star prior rated current sedans. Thus Resulting in fail ratings across the board. The crash test side impact vehicle used from now on will have an increased height to match the large new SUVs. Astonishingly the Audi A8 about three years back (Matt showed how it works-) designed an emergency feature that can detect impending side impact collision. The A8 utilizes the adjustable air suspension to instantaneously raise the one side of the car sIgnificantly prior to impact. Obviously the industry is well aware of this problem.

How does somthing with 89% get a lower score than 88% i dont trust the star rating. better off watching the actual crash tests to see what will happen to you
I owned a dihatsu handivan that had a 5 star rating but a standard truck tyre was higher than my bonet. the car also weighed 900kg. how can a 900kg car save you from a crash with a 40-100 ton truck yea your going to die. small cars should not be allowed to get 5 start

You need to look at entry-level vehicles to see zero stars NCAP or no NCAP result at all: (1. 0-1. 4 litre) Renault (Kwid, Honda (BR-V, Brio, Kia (Picanto, Hyundai (i-10, Datsun (Go, Tata, Chery (QQ3, J2), Mahindra, Suzuki (Swift, Celerio. 5-star NCAP does mean a very safe car, that's the whole point of NCAP. Cheap cars exist, and they're popular, and they're unsafe, but not according to carwow.

this crash test doesn't mean a thing in the real world as people who believe this test will end up driving faster and when they do have an accident, it will be a catastrophic accident that totally destroys the car. I rather buy poor score car as I will drive it slowly

Now I'm pretty much sure, Jimmy will be introduced in India. Maruti Suzuki sells the least safe cars in India (except S-cross & Brezza. Most of their cars scored 0-3 in GNCAP rating with abs, airbag, structure and other things.

Totally agree with looking at just the safety of the driver, in this survey only. I agree that the greater majority of journeys are with just the driver so this information is what we need. Great survey, thanks.

Fiat Panda got 0 stars. but the Fiat Panda Cross from the same generation got 3 stars. and the Fiat Panda from the previous generation got 5 stars. The rating system might be a bit random.

Think you should be honest and not just fudge the numbers. When you consider most families have kids your assumptions are a jokes. Notice there-s no Pommy cars even on this list.
