Skoda Superb 2021 review: the best value car in the world?

This is the revised Skoda Superb Estate! It-s the sort of car you-d be considering if you were in the market for an affordable yet spacious estate, so something like a Volkswagen Passat Estate or Peugeot 508 SW. The question is, does the revised Superb offer enough to make it a suitable choice in comparison to the competition? Well, one key area where the Superb succeeds is the boot, with the 660 litres of storage making it the class-leader in this category! But that-s not the only impressive element- There-s a wide choice of trims and engines, including 3 petrols, 3 diesels and even a plug-in hybrid! So it all sounds pretty impressive, and with a starting price of under -27, 000 it-s more than affordable! So is it the all-round class-leaders for affordable family estate cars?

I actually like the old gear selector. I can grip it without looking or bending forward, then I pull it and I'm ready to go less then a second after I started teh engine. Yes, the new ones make it easier to reach the phone box. But then again while driving I'm using the gear selector more often then grabbing the phone, which is usually lying there from start to end. So all in all I favour the old selector over the new form the golf or actavia.

I expect there's some crazy Euro regulation as to why this latest 2L190bhp petrol engine has lost 30bhp over my 2016 L&K 220bhp engine. Can anyone explain?
Love my Superb mk 3 estate. Very serene driving environment. Everything works as it should. In -sports-mode it can be hustled along a back road surprisingly well and in -comfort- mode it bounces around a bit but road holes etc are mopped up very nicely. Thoroughly good value practical car.

What Skoda is playing at is that not everyone wants those features in their car. Thus, instead of risking customers avoiding Skoda due to the features being standard, they sell them as options. Not to mention, most people won't need to pull down the rear seats at all. So, Skoda is giving those features as options, not only making the cars a bit more affordable but also saving on the pollution of producing them for every vehicle.

I'm driving my 3rd Superb. The two first ran 258k, 250k kilometers with one towing each - one for a dead battery, one for a broken waterpump. The one I'm driving today and for the next year, has run 384k kilometers with zero towings, and a total cost of maintenance (excluding brakes, tires and service) of less than TWO US CENTS per kilometer. It's a 190 Hk diesel with 6-speed DSG from 2016.

Was really interested in buying one, but Skoda CZ simply could not be bothered. I was lied to about the website configurator not working, and when I then sent a pdf of my chosen spec to my local dealer I was made to feel that they would be doing me a favour in taking things further. After 21 years of owning Skodas, it will be Skodas no more.

Been driving that car on a holiday for 7 days. we drove about 1000 miles in it. The jerkiness at starts/ when pulling away was super pronounced and annoying! It basically did it 90% of the time. and when fiddling with parking it was not nice having your car jerk forward when trying to inch it along! Besides that, its a really nice car!

So I bought the Sportsline 280 a few weeks back. Sat at lights with a 20 plate Fiesta ST next to me. Got the thumbs up from both the young lads when they eventually caught me up. That's the beauty of this car, one min its a big red taxi, then you floor it, anything with launch control and 4 wheel drive is gonna make you smile -.

Best value car? Is it a joke? I think Superb is absolutely not worth the money, compared to Octavia, Corolla or Passat, 508. First two are cheaper but big enough and other two are just much better for almost same price. Superb is just too unoriginal (looks too much VW-ish) and not worth the price.

I wonder if I am the only one who finds this presenter so irritating that I can't wait to get off this website and get a review from a presenter who is interested in reviewing the car, instead in this case, of polishing his ego in much the same way as some people polish a turd.
