The S8 all the way. I drove AMG models for years, but I got tired of the rough ride and extra noise after the initial excitement wore off. So now my daily driver is a 2017 W222 S-Class (still have an SL AMG for weekends) and a big, quieter car is so much more relaxing. Same could apply to S8/RS6 I would expect.

This guy is so predictable with his sour puss attitude towards Audi. I have the Audi S8 plus and my wife has the BMW Alpina B7. Best of both worlds. Nothing against Mercedes. Mercedes never really get our attention when it comes to looks and most importantly the drive itself.

Pretty sure that S8 is not standard, at 18 seconds in shows the engine bay and the S8 has open cone air filters with heat shielded intake pipes, pretty sure that-s not how Audi built it out of the factory. Doubt someone would do that and not remap the ecu also

The new RS6 has lost every single drag race I've seen on the internet. Disappointing as Audi seems to not care about performance as its sibling company, Porsche for instance with whom it shares the same engines and platforms but less performance. Ughhh

As cool as these are I would buy a 2017 S8 Plus or RS7 Performance. Much cheaper and a large chunk of depreciation is already accounted for. I also think the previous S8 looks much better than the new one, which looks too blingy.

This proofs that spoiler, huge wheels, fake sounds, black windows, loud names-don-t make a car quicker! The RS6 lost completely it-s sporty-elegance whit the last generation-and the S8 is almost quicker!

Matt have you ever try to put off the stability control and then refing the car? I know there are some models of Audi and VW, that then alows you to ref higher.

Your RS6 gets beaten by a vehicle that is heavier, less power and not built to race, surprised after all the other times it got beat you didn't hand it back to Audi and ask them for a proper RS6.

If you are worried about the start just swap cars and try again. Maybe the RS6 guy was changing with the paddles which goes to show - just leave it alone and it will go better.
