Mat the rolling race is practically unfair for all the races. You should consider the winner by looking at the car which picked up speed well and maintained the speed per roads regulations. Just because you came pass the car that picked up well at 160mph doesn't make you a winner. There us no way you're gonna be overtaking 160mph on normal roads. Thats practically possible but not on our roads with limits and regulations. I would suggest if you judge by which car picked up well upto the limits in your country. Assuming that 150mph is the road limit, Let's say A picked up and left achieving 130 mph then B came passed it at 150(or less)mph, B wins. But if A picked up achieving 150mph then B comes past it at 160mph, A wins because it has observed regulations. B broke them so as to pass you which rules it out.
Am a Driver in Kenya and mostly 120kmh is the maximum speed set and sometimes you want to overtake another car going at 110kph but you can't since you would have to drive at 120-140kph to overtake quick which poses risk against safety and also laws of the country.
I hope it clear, its just an idea because some of the speed you overtake with in rolling races are practically not just applicable, and unsafe too on our roads.

Everyone knows old cars haven't got the gearbox or software to get of the line quickly. I have a v10 touring and a 911 turbo x50 996.
Both cars are quick but My v10 m5 will WALK away from pretty much anything from 120mph. I challenge YOU. to prove me wrong. a car thats 15 years plus old can and still will walk away from many modern cars after 120mph. every time you get a driver in a v10 m5 it's like they don't no what there doing. its Sooooo frustrating. DM Me any time and we can put all this nonsense to bed. racing 15 year old cars with brand new ones then harping on about how the new ones are faster of the line. I no let's get a 4wd audi and race an rear wheel drive car. come on matt. weres the fun in that.
Go pick a modern car that's the equivalent to an m5 touring and let's go head to head from 120. upwards. and let's see -. I love your chanel and what your doing but god you frustrate me with these silly races.

At 5500rpm, both engines are producing almost the same power (374bhp vs 380bhp) and similar torque around 470-490nm each. The M440i holds its 374bhp until it hits 6500rpm, then power drops off. Whereas at 6500rpm in the V10 is spitting out 480bhp, and by 7700rpm it's producing maximum power of 507bhp. It is why that M5 can go over 200mph derestricted, because of the gearing and the very high rpms that the power is produced. The M5 is very fast car, even by todays standards, in terms of outright top end speed. All these turbo charged 3. 0-litre engines with flat torque curves are very fast at slower speeds, but they cannot match that V10 on a top speed run. Even the later F10 M5, despite having 50bhp more than the E60 is noticably slower at the very top end. There is reason why the E60 is legendary car, because the way that it delivers that 507bhp is very exciting compared to flat torque curve turbo engine.

I suspect incorrect gearbox settings here (mine certainly does not lurch on change) the trick is to set it to S-6 but, you have no driver aids S5 or D5 really slows the car as I expect we have seen here.
It took me over a year to find the right setup in mine: o I also wonder if he was in P500? - he did say it was a mates car and he didn't want to break it, can't say I blame him.
P500S with S6 shift setting would have been a different story, far closer at least I'm sure, unfortunately if your settings are wrong it is actually dissapointingly boring and relatively tame to drive!

I dont know what the developers were thinking up till now, the TURBO was available for the last 60 years and instead they built more complex and larger engines than ever during the E60 era. And even now the N63 engines they have called 50i are crap, large displacement V8s with turbos that barely do anything because if they did it would destroy the poorly designed engine block that still is ready to -eat its self-. The B58/S58 is the choice of the engine now, 3L I6, simple and durable.

He obviously doesn't have the bmw m5 in setting 6 for the smg transmission. It shifts nothing like that even In the 5th setting. Does he even have the m button on with 500 psport enabled. And he's in the starting car horsepower that's only set at 400 hp. I own a 2006 bmw m5 e60. And when m button is on with 500psport and trans setting to 6. I've done 11. 8 in the quarter mile with mine on some brimstone potenza super street tires.

BMW logic: Put one of the best engines they ever built into the M5, then only sell it mated to the worst gearbox they ever made. Except for in the automatic-loving, highly speed-restricted US of course where you could get that M5 with a manual gearbox.
I'd still want that car, mind you. I drove the V10-powered M6 for a few days back in the day and while the SMG was truly terrible, that glorious engine very nearly made up for it.

Does this not just Prove that over priced top end BMW's are just shit and broken after 20 years? Where as most other good - AKA Japanese Korean stuff is still working. I bet even a std 530D estate wouldn't have as much bad shit going on. How crap were the brakes.

The M5 is broken. Or he's in p400ode. This was confirmed when he said all dash lights on and no abs.
I do believe the S85 which pulls over 200 mph. Will give the 4 a breakdown after 80 mph it's over. It's clearly broken guys trust me
