The Kia Ceed is a cheaper alternative to family-friendly, popular hatchbacks such as the Volkswagen Golf. The question is, with the price only slightly less than the all-conquering VW, should you go for the Kia instead? Well, let s check out the latest upgrades! When it comes to the design, there are a number of changes, including honeycomb tail lights, new alloy wheel designs, and an all-new front-end! When it comes to the interior, you ll find a load of soft-touch, good-quality materials throughout the majority of the cabin. Otherwise, the dashboard design is reasonably similar to the old edition, but that s not exactly a bad thing! Under the bonnet, there s a choice of three different engines. The entry-level is a 1-litre petrol with 120hp, along with a 1. 5-litre petrol with 160hp. There s also a 1. 6-litre diesel with 136hp.

It has helped killing the Golf and the Focus. But this is because the price of the Golf and the Focus is over the top. Other than that it is because of the dumbing down of the general population. Whereas in the past handling and quality was of high importance for the general public. These days people don't care weather their car is starting to rust or has poor paint quality or simply has poor interior quality. That's something that people don't care about anymore. They care about low price high feature cars. That's where kia's and hyundais shine. But people sell their cars generally after 5 years these days. Whereas in the past people owned their cars on average for about eight years and then it moved on to a relative. These cars aren't made to live for a 10 years. And you see a general degradation of cars after a certain period. Take for example a BMW from 2003. That will still live today. Same for a Renault build in 2006. A hyundai from 2006 is on average about dead by now. A car from 2012 is generally considered old and due to replacement these days. Or for the owner that doesn't have a lot of money but has to be prepared to flush a lot of money down the drain for maintenance.
But no I personally would never consider a ceed.

I have the 2021 pre face-lift estate with the 1. 6 diesel mild hybrid engine.
I think the speakers are absolutely fine, I love the infotainment system, a lot more stylish than some competitors albeit a little bit slow on start up and I can't get android auto to work at all!
My car has been at kia for 2 months having a new top end of the engine as some sort of tensioner siezed. we have a lot of kias at work for company cars and all the mild hybrid engines appear to be failing
My verdict. well I didn't want the car to start with, I tried to get an octavia, but in hindsight (bar the obvious engine issues they have) I really like the car and grown quite attached to it and that's coming from a petrol head that had a 4. 2 v8 Audi S4 as my last car

I would rather old school analog dials than screens. Bc i trust tbe analog than screens. They lag and if they break then you wouldnt see anything and also they are expensive. But with analog. You will feel like your in a proper car and if you have also manual you will enjoy. Just imagine a car have manual with a screen? Eww. I dont like it. But i do love the screens but just dont get rid of the analog gauges

Amazed you quite rightly ripped the stereo and noted the old skool drivers cockpit but didn't say that Kia used to offer the GT Line S spec, which they still do on the Proceed, that offers full digital cockpit, jbl upgraded stereo and many other features. Kia binned this cause of the chip shortage which is absolutely criminal. You also didn't note that even in top GT trim this car gets halogen headlights!

You can't get the automatic version in the UK for some reason.
Could it be the reason is that the average British person can actually drive?
Even though you guys can't do kilometers, oh well, can't have it all. At least the liquid fuel isn't gas, so that's nice.

Have I missed something or does this car not come with rear passenger air vents? How the hell do manufacturers get away with doing this!
Isn't this car classed a family hatchback!
BTW the VW Golf boot capacity is 380l and not 180l as indicated.

We picked up our new Proceed last week (same colour as this one) I'm quite picky with cars, having owned numerous Audi's, VW's etc and I have to say, our new Kia is fantastic. Kia are really mixing it with the big boys now.

South Koreans have steped up their game! Japanese and German auto manufacturers are well aware! They provide exceptional warranties like no other car manufacturer with a competitive price and fully loaded! Well done

The Kia unlike the Peugeot has an adult size steering wheel. For that reason alone I d buy the Kia over any Peugeot. Peugeot wheels always remind me of the Nintendo Wii Mario Kart accessories steering wheel.

I've got the previous generation (2017) spec 3 model and that came with electronic handbrake and the digital speedo screen, it seems like a step backwards to me with the new Ceed
