Introducing the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 6! It s the follow-up to the impressive Ioniq 5, and Mat s about to find out if the 6 has what it takes to match the popularity of its predecessor! Starting with the design, you clearly won t be mistaking either car for the other. The Ioniq 6 has a sleek, swooping body design, coupled with dual spoilers at the back. It comes with a pixelated light design similar to the 5, although it also has a bit of a strange rear bumper design. The sleek looks continue around the front, and all-in-all it s pretty smart! It even comes with vents which remain closed when the car s driving at slow speeds. On the inside the design is pretty similar to the Ioniq 5 - but that s not a bad thing! There are good quality materials across the dash, and a large infotainment & digital dial dual screen mounted to the middle of it. A centre console has been added to the 6, which comes with a good amount of storage and a couple of physical buttons. There s only one battery available, a 77kWh pack which is supposedly good for 338 miles of range. There will be two versions of the Ioniq 6 available - a rear-wheel drive edition that produces 228hp, or a four-wheel drive edition that can put down 325hp. The price of the Ioniq 6 is pretty similar to the 5, starting from 47, 000. But is it the stand-out EV to buy in 2023? Or should you choose something like a Model 3 or EV6 instead? Stick with Mat to see for yourself! Kimmax: The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 are two very impressive electric car models from Hyundai. The Ioniq 5 has a stunning futuristic design and is equipped with the most advanced technology, while the Ioniq 6 has a more classic yet elegant design. Both offer outstanding performance and high energy efficiency. However, Ioniq 5 is more suitable for those who want modern and dynamic mobility, while Ioniq 6 is more suitable for those who want elegant and classic mobility. The choice comes down to personal preference, both are equally brilliant and stunning.

I own an Hyundai and I truly don't understand how they can't get people that make better decisions. This car is, in all aspects, a downgrade from IONIQ 5!
There is not a single caracteristic that would make be buy it instead of the 5, but there are things that would make me definitely avoid it at all costs!
Really, things like the buttons in the side of the seat shouldn't even be approved by safety standards! The outside mirror (for the digital thing) is absolutely atrocious and you're not gaining anything - a screen can't physically have the image quality of a mirror, while being an extra complexity that can break down and will be expensive to repair.
Also, their exterior design is absolutely random for each and every model they make. They can produce a beautiful car in one year and an atrocious one the next year, even for the same model.
They still don't understand the benefits of the consistency of adopting a design language.
I bought the i30 SW N-Line because I needed an SW car and it happens to be a good one while also being good looking and affordable, but that's how it goes with Hyundai cars, you don't buy Hyundai because you like their cars, you buy them because they might have a good option for your specific use case at the time you're in the market to buy a car. If you were looking to buy a car at a slightly different time, they might not have a good option for you. It's a continuous hit and miss thing.
I'm happy with this specific i30, but that will not make me automatically buy an Hyundai next time (I have another car to replace soon) or even consider the brand altogether, but the brands I'll be considering for sure and from which I will be analyzing all the options will be the brands with a consistent (and predictable) design language.

I m not usually a badge snob and I love a lot of the cars coming out of Korea but I still don t understand why Hyundai didn t spin off IONIQ as its own brand like SEAT did with Cupra, especially given how different the IONIQ 5 was to the previous Hyundai Ioniq. They make all these fancy, futuristic cars with clean lines then stick on an ugly plastic badge from a 90s budget minivan.

Really disappointed in this one. Why did they go from the iconic looking Ioniq 5 to this very much generic boring looking thing?
Inside is good looking as typical Hyundai (and Kia) these days, with all the fun and useful gadgets. (Especially screens taking away your attention from driving) Blind Spot camera need to be standard on all cars!

ALLWAYS, ALLWAYS, that litre bottle of water that does or does not fit. You need a litre of water when you clime a mountain. on foot, with a rucksack of 15 kilos on your back, not relaxing in a car with aircon. STOP it, STOP it! It makes me MAD!
Even worse, sitting in an S class in the back. with that same bottle! Ahaaarch.

Actually it's that kia never gets the estimated gas they say. It's always way under. In an ice car if they say you get 32miles per gal you actually get 25 to 28 miles per gal depending on how you drive. The only way you can get what it says is if you just filled up and are cruising down hill the whole time.

Hyundai - the only manufacturer to take an absolutely iconic design that looks absolutely spectacular (the Ioniq 5) and then introduce its successor which sees them completely throw the design in the bin and deliver something that is pig ugly! What an absolute howler of a mistake!

The Chinese market is probably the most important to the BEV Automakers. Part of the reason sedans have more appeal. VW under performed in sales in China, because their ID line was more SUV like. No surprise the Hyundai Ionic 6 and the new VW ID7 are Sedans.

I hate long cars that don't have much space inside. not great for tight European cities.
and that front looks quite outdated, the back looks better imo. Either way, Ioniq 5 is much cooler all around and way more iconic.

Looks like a Mercedes CLS from the side, looks like a Porsche from the rear and useless info, the Hyundai icon is 2 people shaking hands. Mat, haven t you heard the new Hyundai ad on the radio (how to pronounce it )

That left mirror scene reminds me of my uncle in his Ranger, he was doing a reverse maneuver and he never looked at his screen and we all asked why he didn't and he just said I don't trust it, I rather use my mirrors.

way i see it, if u gonna make a car thats a 5 seater, make it a comfortsble 5 seater not s compact one, if u want a compact car, buy one that holds 2 people, compromised seating in a car is a economical waste

Has a look of the Hyundai Coupe from the front. Looks a decent car but I'm not sure I could bring myself to spend 45/50k on it. Especially given you could buy an brand new i30n performance for 10/15k less

I liked the shape of the Ioniq 5 but hated the paint colour options. Where as the Ioniq 6 has its own unique shape. Plus far better colour options. So in balance the Ioniq 6 is the winner.

there's a speed bump on my street that's a short no through road, with very few residents. The speed bump is simply a menace. It is ridiculous. We don't need it. It's dumb. It's obscene
