Tail Light Restoration using Clear Coat. This video will show you how to clean and restore your taillights so they will never turn yellow or hazy again! You have seen videos on restoring headlights with bug spray, toothpaste, baking soda, and the kits you buy in the store, but all of these methods are temporary and eventually the haze and oxidation will come back. My method will first make the brake light clear by wet sanding and then put a UV coat on it to seal it in. Clear coat I used

One tip with the orange peel. I don't have that much experience but I have found that with clear coats going thicker can eliminate the dimples. You have to be careful because you can get sag, there is a fine line. Too thin and you get dimples, too thick and it sags. With practice you can get it just right and achieve a perfect smooth surface with no dimples. I've never done this on a car, just model rockets actually, but it's given me a lot of practice.

At 9: 26 you can see the finish is not smooth and glassy. Not even close. It is orange peel.
Either spray more in a coat or keep coating, with sanding in between if necessary, to get the gloss finish glassy like the tail light lens. Okay I see at 11: 26 he addresses the orange peel. You do not have to get orange peel spray painting.

Mr. Fix,
After watching your video, a few times, I finally got the nerve up to try it. I use to rebuild engines and can make them run like new. But, restoring plastic or painting anything is not my forte. I am happy to say that my 95 Chevy 1500 looks much better thank you!

This video is an absolute masterpiece. There is no other guide on YouTube that even comes close to this quality. Amazing photography (including the dog) and outstanding commentary. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT BEAT A CHRISFIX VIDEO!

everything is a go but instead of clear coating it is better to polish with a wax using polisher it will look more shiny no waiting no worry of spraying badly.

Chris it look nice but i noticed some orange pill on the paint, how to get rip of those and polish it. Can you tell me please bro.

Chris, if you steel wool between clear coats you will get rid of the orange peel and have a smooth surface. Great video again!
