I know this is 5 years old but I really hope this guy got all the issues on this taco fixed. This thing needed some love. Can see that it needed coolant BAD. based on that and the fact a fram oil filter was used, this thing was neglected. . so sad. Just shows how reliable these trucks are cause it purrs beautifully here.

I already know the leaks going to be massive when I hit it with the UV light. As soon as I hit the trigger you can hear it escaping up by the condenser somewhere. The system won't even build pressure at all. Gonna check out that ring for sure.

You have blinded me with UV light straight to my eyes; -)
Thanks for the video. Good clarity. I'm assuming that after replacing the compressor, you would use a vacuum manifold to pull out any moisture (i. e. do it properly)

Thank you for this video! So in this case, we have to change the compressor only right? How much does it cost for the change if we DIY? Hope to hear from you soon. This mean a lot to me as I am a newbie in this repair thingy

Thanks, very well done video. Now I need to go get the leak detector kit. I had already watched 3-4 other videos but yours is detailed enough to give me the info I needed. Thanks again.

The UV dye, does it go away after (can ya spray it off after fix) asking because if you get another leak for example, and you goto check again will the dye is still there?
reply

I used the uv dye seal but it still doesnt hold my ac charge. Could I use putty to cover the leak if the can isnt working by itself?
reply

What if the leak is on the low valve? And sinice thats where you refill it, obviously it has refrigerant residue. How can I know?
reply

My leak is coming from the AC condenser in front of the radiator, if the hole is small enough will the sealant cover the hole?
