You just gave me the answer to my problem. I have a 2000 dodge dakota. And my lights dims when I was driving. So I pulled over. Checked my battery connections. They were great. Mostly bc they were brand new. I had put them on a few days before. Then I gave the battery a bit of charge. Started my baby up, took off my negative terminal, instantly shut off. I was really confused. But now I know thank you

As usual thanks for the informative video.
Please remember to use gloves when handling your battery because the battery acid can easily get onto your hands which you might not feel too much but you my touch/transfer more sensitive skin areas like your face where you'll feel the burn

Hey chris fix my tensioner bolt is stripping and I already installed my new alternator but I didn't put the ground wire in, so now I have to take it out and put the positive cable in.
Can you give me some advice on how not to strip the tensioner pulley bolt.

Chris, I couldn't help but notice how much that clutch fan was in the way. You should do an electric fan conversion video to go along with that beefier alternator. Haha I know this is an old video, but it would still be worth it to free up room in the engine bay.

Chris, is 30-40ftlbs standard for all alternators across all vehicles? I have an 04 Dodge Ram 1500 3. 7L and I looked in the Haynes manual and online and I cat find any torque specs for my alternator bolts in any of them. Owner manual does not say anything either.

Thanks Chris, had an issue with my battery wasn't charging right and was unsure due to the previous owner buying a new battery and alternator before I got it, went to take a look and the positive cable was not attached at all, what a simple fix

Just to save someone time Remember your alternator can still show as good charging if its failing to read the pcm to check it you need a special tool or if its easy to take off check at your local alternator if they have the system to check it.

Do a video showing how to change an alternator that is under the engine! All the videos Im finding show them on the top and much easier to replace! I have a 2011 Kia Soul and having a hell of a time lining up bolts

an even easier and cheaper way to test if an alternator is bad is to turn your car on and disconnect the battery as its running. If the cars turns off the alternator is bad if it still runs then its not bad
