The 510 was indestructible. My friend had a 73 510 he bought for 200 back in high school in 95. He drove it down a frozen plowed farm field about 50 mph I thought we were going to die. Drove up and down a frozen massive spillway ditch with boulders. It ripped the tire right off. You could not kill it. My friend was an idiot beating that car

My dad had datsun 510, he swapped the engine from a crashed nissan s30 / z240 (cant remember wich)And it would spin the wheels like crazy alltho the tires back then were really slim. He drived it till the chasis gave out. He sold the car to a guy who wanted to use the engine in a airplane. Aparently it still works xd

Back in the 80s my girl friend's step-dad had one of these and I loved driving that thing. Meanwhile my step-mom had just bought an 81 Celica hatch. That was sweet but the 510 was more aesthetically pleasing.

My first car was a 2-year old 1980 Datsun 510 4-door hatchback with a Z engine. I loved that car. I would be driving that car today if my husband hadn't murdered her. Jerk.
