The evolution of racing simulation games from 1983 - Present. Matt Arnold: I wish someone would make a GT-R 2 where you can download custom cars into the game and play online with other players using them. If it were built to a level of having to physically model the engine in order to get the car in the game then that could avert any possibility of cheating. If they got it right, they'd never have to make another racing sim, it could just be updated instead

Where is Collin McRae Rally from the 90s? Where is Toca from the 90s? Where is Dirt Rally? What kind of a list is this? As a real ex racer, I can list you at least 10 games which you didnt list, more realistic than PCars 2. Even Codemasters F1 series is. No matter what people say. Driving on tarmac with new slick tyres is NOT suppose to feel like driving a scooter on ice.

the fact that they mentioned NFS Shift over GRID made me dislike. GRID was all about the aggressiveness and intensity of racing. Shift pretty much plagiarised the whole idea. GRID also had a semi-softbody damage physics engine which revolutionised damage in mainstream racing games (BeamNG will forever be the best softbody damage example)

next gen physics on pcars & pcars2? And yet physics suck in these games compared even to an old game like rFactor. Don't you see there is something wrong? P. S.: But to talk about evolution of sim-racing and put simcade titles on the list is kinda silly to begin with.

Wait, what about dirt rally and dirt 4? a real professional rally driver got in the top 200 in the world for this one track, on his first attempt. Which only proves how realistic it is to easily transfer real world racing experience into the game.

I'm really glad they had Shift 2: Unleashed. It isn't the most realistic driving simulator like Assetto Corsa or others, but it does capture the shear terror of racing, to the point that you actually have to remember to breathe.

>include very shitty glitchy buggy games at the end cough cough Project Cars cough cough>Dont include the legends of sim racing, like Colin Mcrae Rally, Sega Rally, Virtua Racing, Enthusia Professional Racing, and many others.

In my opinion you should have mentioned Live for speed and Netkar Pro. Especially netkar pro, from Kunos Simulazioni, was one of the hardest and most realistic simulations ever. It's tyremodel was one of the best.

Are you kidding me? You put iRacing and rfactor but no LFS? LFS is by far the most realistic driving simulator out there. I play it every single day online. Lots of people still play it.

definitely think test drive unlimited should be in here. it was open world in Hawaii and you had to drive to dealerships and custom shops. As far as real world driving goes, they did a great job
