This 24k Gold Plated DeLorean is the culmination of excess in the 80s. This is a story about a man who had it all money, drugs, cars and a desire to build a car company to rival the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini or at least that was the plan. We are going gold hood to gold rear bumper on this DeLorean DMC. Go

The only thing about the DeLorean cars that I remember is Back to the Future and the movie Eternity. I had heard about these gold plated models a while ago but finally have seen one thanks to Donut Media. I like how Humprey defended DeLorean by saying maybe that coke scandal could have been a set up. Who knows the truth? I do know that the DMC 12 was definitely an icon of the 80s and I did always want one, so I could put my flex capacitor into it. I hope you all find more rare cars to put on here or all of us to enjoy. (:

I certainly appreciate the DMC-12 as much as the next enthusiast. Hell, I love much stranger cars, but I dont see the appeal in the DMC-12 as a drivable car. Its cool to look at, absolutely, but thats the extent of it for me. Am I the only one? For instance, when I opened this video, I immediately said to my girlfriend Why should you gold plate a DeLorean? Thats like polishing a turd. and I stand by that statement. Cool due to its historical significance, and for no other reason but that. Am I the only one?

If that's the gold car that doesn't have the factory gold door then the real story is that it was not finished before the DeLorean Motor Company went bankrupt and stopped manufacturing its cars. It was finished at a later time with a non factory door that doesn't match the rest of the car, thats also why it has a different interior than the other 2, because it was finished at a later date. Not the story they probably got from the owner about a bent door.

Delorian just had really bad ideas, he failed because his car sucked and his ideas sucked especially for the time. He tried to be ferarri and lambroghini but was to expensive for what he offered in a car and in anytime that spells faliure. Kinda like the new Supra who's gonna by that when u can get a z for cheaper and the z has more horsepower. Oh yeah I forgot you don't like the z James

I don't understand what the point is in having a car so valuable you can't even touch it without gloves. I mean if I ever got my dream car, a 64 Impala, I wouldn't use it as a daily driver (a mix of value and safety) but I would still drive it sometimes. Maybe if you had the car on display, like in that bank, but it sounds like this car just sits in an empty room now.

Wow 0 to 60 in 10 sec. flat ya new stingray owners are now feeling ripped off lol gee if only he set up manufacturing in China and stayed with his mid engine design and went lets say with a German or Italian engine that produced at least 350 horsepower now he would have had something that I would have invested in

John Delorean hid all of his coke in the rear seat of the gold DMC-12's that's why James can't sit in it. The third one that can't be found has all his money in it so the feds couldn't find it, the car can't be found today because the FBI is waiting for its arrival for evidence so they can close the case

I loved everything about this car until he told me that their only options of an engine were french branded crap, what a big bust, it's like dreaming about a new facelifted Supra wince the release of the first concept and finding out what the car actually is years later, trash

Im inclined to agree that the big manufacturers dont want a smaller company to become successful, without saying its a conspiracy theory. Except in this particular case I do believe John DeLorean was running coke because his cars were indeed crappy.
