Its hilarious you saying this Lincoln lacked features. I drove a 2001 Corolla for years. It did not have back speakers. It didnt have cruise control. It didnt have power locks or windows. It didnt have an RPM gauge. It had a 3 speed automatic which meant above 55 miles an hour there was no downshift. I bought a mustang gt and traded in the corolla a few years back and was amazed at all the literal basic features I was missing out on. That corolla was from the Stone Age. Reliable but as economic as an economy car can get. The corolla didnt even have rear defrosters.

And yet the Ford expedition out sold it because that thing is ugly especially in the rear. Thank goodness from the second generation came out things got a lot better. To be fair the main differences aside from the engine and navigator having more problems in the 5. 4 3V in expedition; was just lacking the air-conditioned seats, clock on the dash, and audio/climate wheel controls. for the cause of the navigator you might as well get the same and expedition Eddie Bauer/premier which costless with the same cheap plastic interior.

I have a model of a Navigator. My brother got it probably back in 2005 or 2006 and gave it to me around 2012, and it has giant wheels with spinners (remember when that was a thing) and a mini PS2 in the passenger seat. As well as Dub stickers all around and speakers and TVs in the back. To think that at a time not too long ago, a big SUV was the star of a bunch of rap videos. long before lamborghinis and Bentleys and Bugattis changed that

I'm so confused by the Doug score - the styling was fine, but it's dated today -- giving it a 4 out of 10. No shit, Doug. Your videos are great but this scoring system is outdated. How are you scoring 2020 vehicles the same way you score a 1998 vehicle? Shouldn't you be comparing features, comfort, tech to other models in their era? Quality is great considering the entire interior is plastic giving it a 6 out of 10. COME ON, DOUG

So a wider sized range of drivers could drive it it seems like you were hesitant to say so women could drive it, and then you found the high heel and went see theyre the ones who said it Not me. and if thats true which I could be way off but IF THATS TRUE. Its scary and shows how much more has changed than just Full Sized SUVs in the last 20 years

My father-in-law had one of these and it was total shit. He traded it at 100, 000 miles and it was on it's third engine. Thankfully he had purchased the extended powertrain warranty. He traded it for the second gen navvy and it was much better. He's now got a 2018 and it's gotten exponentially better than even the second gen.

TBH, seeing this im even more impressed with the Dodge Grand Caravan from 1991 that we had, it had those pop out rear windows, heated mirrors, electric seats, that screen on the roof at the front did the exact same as in this navigator and so on. Pretty much only thing it didnt have was electric movable foot pedals.

What Rubbish So. so, so, not the first luxury SUV - good grief you make the point yourself. the Grand Wagoneer, the Range Rover, the Lexus had already been on the road for ages, especially the Jeep and Range Rover. this is just a gussied up Ford Expedition. Spreading this sort of misinformation drives me nuts.

I honestly prefer ceiling mounted a/c vents because it's much easier to aim it at your face and the air is also closer to your face, so it won't slow down and barely blow at you. I hate how expensive luxury cars have their vents in the center console. That's where the controls for ceiling-mounted vents should be.

Why do you compare those vehicles to todays vehicles, and knock the older models for what they were. Thats like comparing 4K to B & W television. pointless comparisons Doug It makes no sense. Many mechanics consider todays vehicles overpriced Junk
