Definitely seems like they sleep on diesels which is surprising as I would imagine they have more in Australia than the US although perhaps the ones they have are doubled down on fuel economy and don't have much by way of performance whereas in the US we have the massive full sized truck segment with powerhouse diesels (a bit different type of performance) having a big following.
They should definitely do a monster torque diesel build if they have any options for that sort of thing. Or just an off road truck build.

My dad had the same model. He got it used and beaten down. Externally in good shape, but the motor needed a heavy overhaul. It got a bigger bore and the burned up turbo was exchange against something evern biggerfrom a truck. An added intercooler helped to press more and cooler air into the engine. The 300D was against a 200D sign exchanged and it was the perfect sleeper. Even the sound was close enough.

I just watched one of your vids from 10 years ago. I'm glad Marty talked Moog into getting some meds for his mega hyperactivity. Haha. I really like these type of vids over the mega builds. BTW, here in the good ole USofA, we had an ashtray on the armrest of the door along with a center located ashtray. The japanese imports were the odd ones that on; y had them in the center console.

I wish you would have done a compound turbo setup on this car. A small inner turbo would have drastically improved your acceleration at low engine speeds. These cars are still common taxi cabs in parts of the world (like Africa) because they are diesel and fairly comfortable. The OM617 engine is exceptionally reliable and can be fixed with zip ties or baling wire most of the time.

I hope Chad is paying tax on his carbon neutral lifestyle. If he is selling said carbon neutral fuel. Which would be an absolute gigantic no no in the states! Damnit he actually has one of the top 5 coolest so that Actually negates all taxes and he is entitled to a 1000 tax return for every year he has had the hat and the car and has not claimed it on his federal taxes.

since im almost positive no one commented to you guys i believe the cigarette with those ash trays is supposed to be held left handed in the right drive car since you can still reach over not to far and ash it while keeping your right hand on the wheel and since your city driving while smoking if you dont bang the gear in it wont ash on the shifter while you hold it

My old Jag XJ6 SIII had 2x ashtrays in the centre console, my integrale and all the other shit heaps I own have a single ashtray in the centre console, you dont need an ashtray next to the window as the window works as an ashtray, saying that the integrale has ashtrays in the rear doors. Thats completely fried my brain.

To answer your question at 3: 40 ish. I'm In the USA (Opposite side driving, and I used to smoke. With every bit going out the window. You cross over. You get used to it. Don't believe me? Drive a manual. You will get used to that, now try smoking. OR or please don't. That shit is harder to kick that cocaine.

What you said about the world running at different times is very true.
I remember my dad saying how great the Renault Clio Williams was (which was THE best Renault car at the time) with its 2. 0L engine that had an output of 145hp. while Honda was already making 170hp with its 1. 6L.

Man, what this guy needs is a source for all that chicken and chip fry oil.
I wonder if he knows anyone who owns a restaurant that could supply old chip and chicken oil; that would be interested in providing him the oil to recycle into fuel?
