If it were me I would re tune the evo so it made a little more power down low. I noticed on the dyno they got the 280 he wanted but every time they increased the max power the curve changed and he started making power later. I think the car would be more fun to drive on the street if you gave up some top end power in order to make better power down low where you would use it more. Its kind of like the horsepower vs torque thing in old muscle cars. Low end torque is almost always more fun on the street.

I really enjoyed watching you two go at it! I know there have been some haters commenting on your track performances, but watching you two analyze each other's car behavior definitely shows me that you two can drive way better than most of the commenters here! Thanks for the awesome content! Also when Moog was talking about he did not know what Marty was doing behind him that really reminded me of Initial D and how Rye always says you start from behind to see what the other driver can do haha.

I own an Aussie delivered 32 Gtr and have fettled and tuned for 2 decades. Ive procrastinated about e85 for years and in one swift sentence Marty summed up why I shouldnt tune for it, I am running around 1. 2 bar and getting 500hp, so everything points to e85 and more safe boost, which equals more power, but I would lose the ability to drive anywhere but to, or from a Freedom servo, lest I fill the boot with jerry cans of corn juice. Ill keep 98, a safe tune and 700klm range please and thanks.

This i missed a gear thing bugs me. It happens really often i think it is because of the shifting with the left hand (the WRONG hand) buy a Left Hand Drive car, or much better convert a RHD into a LHD, and drive it for 2 hours and i bet you will NEVER miss a gear with it afterwards. Why should someone do something with the weaker and less skillful hand while the better one does absolutely nothing?

Just watched the race between the two cars I think using ethanol fuel gives the EVO the advantage it's make a lot cooler combustion temperature over time as the GULF get hotter with the gasoline the ECU starts pull ignition timing thus reducing the performance of the car so if both car were using the same fuel I think the gulf would be hands down the victor.

Wait you only get 220kms out of a tank: Something a bit wrong there when i used to be in Evosquad fb group some boys would only be getting 120-150kms lol, Old 9 360awkw would get 400-430kms on E85 H beam 2L gt3076r
Even my 3 RS with a Much smaller tank gets 300kms an more power then my 8mr, Good race though, Much more fun Driving Manuals

I would like to see the both of you spending time with a driving instructor. Im thinking theres as much as makes no difference between the two cars. Awesome battle. there was no chopping; -)
The Golf has a twinscroll turbo which takes away the turbo lag.
Conclusion is that the EVO 9 from 2005 with the S-AWC is technically the better car and still not beaten! and REV it to 4500rpm for launch control, the EVO will chop the Golf R

Evo driver wasnt shifting well and was not driving it in boost. Why is he complaining about it not having power till 4000? You either have the wrong turbo setup or are not keeping your shifts between 4-7k.
The evo ix is a great daily but lacks the 2019 technology.

Think it would of been more interesting if you had used a golf R with a manual transmission and the EVO 9 MR also with the 6 speed manual. Driver mod definitely would of shined a little more with that comparison and gearing ratio would had been a little closer.
