We put some mad new coilovers in Supergramps, now we're wiring in some electronic control so we can adjust them from inside the car. Paul: Hi guys, I had a 1986 mazda 929 turbo (it had fuel injection) when I bought it lucky for me it only had 140000 klms, back in 2007, so everything still worked including the hard and soft suspension. so basically what I'm getting at here they, had this technology way back then, and it worked very well especially where I live (northern rivers northern NSW) I really think every car should have it for sure.

Nice addition guys, I had the Tein EDFC in my skyline years ago. Although the setup and motors are pretty much identical, I think I would prefer that than what I can see of this cusco one. The controller and the adjuster was all in one box and a little nicer to use. since I didn't smoke and nobody smoked in my car, I cut out the back of the ashtray and put it inside so you couldn't see it.

Lexus were the first in 1990+ (or whatever year they came out first in the US) to do electronically adjustable suspension, which may have come even earlier I believe in Japanese Toyotas as the Pegasus system, (unless that was the name for their 4 Wheel Steer, but it the suspension was available way back then)

I use steppers in all my cnc devices (3d printer, laser, and a massive 10 foot rotary) and I'd almost say you might be better off NOT using the stepper covers. It might be needed to keep dust out, but honestly steppers run so hot I'm not 100% sure having them covered is a great plan.

I really miss the original Supergramps, I believe it was a 1992 Subaru Legacy wagon? I feel bad that it flooded and you had to build another one on a more modern shell. See the original Supergramps was a real sleeper car because it looked like an old wagon on the road.

Some old as legacy's came with air suspension and electronically adjustable shocks, I remember pulling out the air suspension and fitting standard springs and shocks because people got sick of the air leaks slamming their car overnight

1985 Nissan Maxima had electronic adjustable suspension (has BCs now, late 80 early 90s they went to sonar to read road conditions and adjust it for how rough the road was, so it sound like VW is starting to catch up with the tech.

I've had some beemers (E34, E38, and my friends have some too (E46, E39 and E34. No diesel. No 4 Banger.
What you've done with the Haynes manual is what you eventually end up doing while working on an old rusty BMW.

Tein also has these. Motors are almost exactly the same. One step that is different is for the teins you lube the threads on the adjuster in the coilover and also unscrew it until its sitting flush to the shaft. I love mine!
