The End of Old School Mechanics (Closing the Repair Shop) fingling8: Your vids are just great. I love 'em. They make me laugh and the images in the corner are clever. I particularly like the vids on Prius and other cars that try to use fewer resources, and how they work. And that tip about NuFinish was excellent. I used that polymer stuff for years on my cars, including a '64 Barracuda I used to have, but never would have considered using it on the windshield. I wonder if it would help keep the windows from frosting-up, as well? (I live in Canada's north)

Just so people can understand why scotty bashes on new cars. From fixing laptops people keep bringing me different car modules. What can I say? I fixed an ecu and saved a guy a couple of hundreds(ecu was impossible to find and someone on ebay was asking 730. After that they just kept coming through the door cause a mechanic recommends me. Imagine if more mechanics knew about me. Currently Im fixing a bmw headlights module just waiting for the chip to arrive.

No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience

I have been using thermal imaging for a while. Amazing number of uses. See where cold air is coming into the house during winter. As you have found, finding hot spots in engines or electrical. I also found where a clog in the pipes was by pouring hot water in the pipe and seeing where the heat stopped. Amazing

What an awesome phone If I had a phone like that I'd never have to take my car to a mechanic again. I'd just point the camera at my car and, voila, it'll tell me exactly what's wrong and how fix it. Think of all the money I'll save I wonder if the thermal camera identifies hot women?

Scotty, Speaking as an Old guy in training (nearly graduated) I find you enthusiasm for genuinely useful technology encouraging and inspiring. I could certainly use this phone to properly balance and bleed the air in the radiators in my house - the joys of steam hearing in New York.

Hello, Scotty; Thank you for all you do. BTW, even my wife likes your videos & watches them by herself. I'm medically retired/disabled so I don't work on cars anymore but I still tinker a bit. I could really use that Blackview phone, that is COOLHave a GREAT day, Neighbor

Good Show, Scotty: ) I don't have a fancy smart phone, but I use one of those electronic point-at thermometers that show temp on their little lcd screen - Does the job - Except finding a cat? Maybe a sardine tin? :)

Using that to check semi truck wheel bearings and tire temps pulling hazmat loads would be very helpful. I see that being used a lot in the future if so readily available now a true Swiss army knife of the smart phones.

Wow Scotty that is really awesome phone. I could use one of those. Not only on my vehicles, but also in the small engine repairs I do alot of. Thank you for all that you do to help us all on our vehicles.
